Apple’s new iPhone will be officially released in September, either as the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 12S. According to foreign media reports, the next generation of iPhone will get a major upgrade to both the screen and camera, as well as the introduction of fingerprint unlocking technology under the screen for the first time. Are you looking forward to it?

Touch ID made its debut on the iPhone 5S in 2013. Then Apple began phasing out Touch ID in favor of Face ID with the release of the iPhone X in 2017. The main reason for eliminating Touch ID is said to be Apple’s desire to get rid of the Home button and adopt a bezel-less display. And in most cases, face unlocking is much faster and more secure than fingerprint recognition.

However, according to one authoritative survey, the feature that Apple fans are most looking forward to for the iPhone 13 is actually the return of Touch ID. Of the 3,000 customers it interviewed, 21% listed the return of Touch ID as their most desired feature. This may be due to the decline in facial unlocking experience after the outbreak, when everyone started wearing masks.

  • Touch ID’s return — 21%
  • Higher refresh rate display (120Hz) — 17%
  • Smaller grooves/no grooves — 15%
  • Restore boxed chargers — 12%
  • Bigger battery — 11%
  • Better camera features — 8.2%
  • Faster processors — 6.8%
  • Compact phones — 5%
  • Better water resistance – 2.2%
  • Foldable design – 1%
  • Removed Lightning port — 0.8%
