On the afternoon of May 16, 2021, “AMO China Integrated Circuit Talent Development Trend” Salon and “2021 AMO China Industry and Education Cooperation” Tea Party was held in Pudong New District, Shanghai, co-organized by AMO China and co-organized by AMO Research and AMO Education.

event

Xu Wei, Secretary General of Shanghai IC Industry Association, Zhang Wei, Executive Dean of School of Microelectronics of Fudan University, and Wu Xiongang, Executive Chairman and CEO of AMO China, delivered speeches at the meeting. Gu Wenjun, Chief Analyst of CMO Research, Ding Huiwen, General Manager of Shanghai Institute of Technology, Huang Letian, Associate Professor of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Cao Jinchang, Senior Vice President of Human Resources of AMO China, delivered speeches at the conference. Xin Mou Research General Manager Jing Xin hosted the event.

Xin Jing, General Manager of Xinmou Research

The event also invited professors and scholars from integrated circuit industry organizations, well-known enterprises, scientific research institutions and universities to exchange ideas. The participants were deeply impressed by the comprehensive analysis of industry trends, the discussion of industry-university-research mode, the authoritative talent survey report and other high-quality contents.

Xu Wei, Secretary General of Shanghai IC Industry Association

Mr. Xu Wei, Secretary General of Shanghai IC Industry Association, said in his speech that the integration of industry and learning, the combination of industry and education, and the joint training of talents in Shanghai’s IC industry had achieved very good results. As an international metropolis, Shanghai has a good employment and living environment, attracting a large number of world-class high-end talents. At the same time, because many international and domestic top enterprises have settled in Shanghai, a large number of mid-level talents are more inclined to develop in Shanghai. In terms of basic talents, according to the statistics of the association last year, Shanghai now has more than 200,000 employees, accounting for one third of the country’s working population. However, Xu Wei also believes that junior and middle level talents in Shanghai’s IC industry are still faced with the challenge of high living costs in Shanghai, and need to improve the policy environment and other aspects.

Zhang Wei, Executive Dean of School of Microelectronics, Fudan University

Mr. Zhang Wei, the executive dean of the School of Microelectronics of Fudan University, said in his speech that the jam in China’s IC industry, which seems to be a technical problem, is actually a talent problem. In order to solve the talent problem, Fudan University has made a lot of efforts in recent years to improve the quantity and quality of talents. At the same time, Fudan University also attaches great importance to the close combination with enterprises in the process of talent training. Through continuous improvement measures, it aims to cultivate more high-quality talents that meet the needs of the industry and make contributions to the development of China’s integrated circuit industry.

Wu Xiongang, executive chairman and CEO of Arm China

Mr. Wu Xiongang, executive chairman and CEO of Arm China, said in his speech that as a local joint venture, Arm China now hopes to cooperate with universities to industrialize and modularize the local core technologies and establish a new and complete core technologies, talents and ecological system. Let the world share Chinese creativity and Chinese IP, and bring better innovation and better ecology to the global industry.

Armou China’s Jishu community also spread the technical knowledge of integrated circuits through open classes, original technical columns and technical questions and answers, attracting 100,000 + registered users of AIOT technology community, effectively connecting technology developers with the technology ecological services of smart technology enterprises, and building a smart technology ecosystem in China.

Gu Wenjun, chief analyst of Ximou Research

During the speech, Gu Wenjun, chief analyst of Ximou Research, mentioned that in 2014, China paid more attention to the development of semiconductor among all the major countries, and in recent years, China’s semiconductor industry has also made a leapfrog development. But now almost all the major countries in the world have begun to pay attention to the semiconductor industry and want to build their own, so-called independent, controllable, safe and reliable industrial chain. In this case, we must recognize the gap between domestic industry and international industry and set out again. At the same time, Gu Wenjun believes that to narrow the gap between domestic industry and international industry, first, we should learn from the enterprise model of AMO in China and promote new cooperation between foreign enterprises and China. Second, we should cooperate in education, especially in the cooperation between industry and education.

Ding Huiwen, General Manager of Shanghai Institute of Industrial Research

Mr. Ding Huiwen, General Manager of Shanghai Institute of Technology, shared his views on the platform to attract talents and connect scientific research and industry. According to Ding Huiwen, the new model of IRID is to promote talent attraction and training through the platform, deepen industrial thinking and product thinking, improve the efficiency of original technology products, help the industry reduce costs, and ultimately help the industry develop faster and better.

Huang Letian, Associate Professor, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China

Huang Letian, associate professor of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, shared the course construction of microcomputer principle and embedded system design for electronic information majors in his speech. In his speech, Huang Letian introduced UESTC’s exploration in talent construction and achievements in talent training in detail.

In terms of talent development and promotion, AMO China Jishu community cooperates with relevant well-known enterprises to launch a series of public courses on popular science technology, Jishu column and Jishu technical questions and answers, providing a knowledge platform for technical practitioners in the IC industry and attracting more technical personnel into the development of the IC industry. At the same time, Jishu community provides free application for ARM courses and kits for college teachers and students, sponsors important college integrated circuit competitions such as collection and creation competition, research and electricity competition, and invites great guests such as Mr. Huang Letian to conduct competition training, so as to promote more electron-related majors students to engage in the integrated circuit industry.

Jinchang Cao, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Arm China

Cao Jinchang, Senior Vice President of Human Resources of Arm China, brings his analysis and countermeasures on the backflow of overseas Chinese chip talents. In the speech, Cao Jinchang elaborated and shared four topics, including “lack of core and lack of talents”, “it is not easy to say that returning to China”, “the third perspective of chip industry and enterprise development at home and abroad” and “countermeasures to attract overseas senior Chinese chip talents”.

Armou China’s Jishu Community has also cooperated with related enterprises in the integrated circuit industry to launch technology and product science popularization courses, organize offline technology salons and conferences, develop board application and other activities, and provide a platform for science popularization and interactive communication of domestic chip enterprises’ technology and ecological services for the vast number of chip talents. In addition, Jishu Community and Anxin Education jointly launched on-cloud recruitment activities to assist domestic enterprises in recruiting domestic and foreign IC technical talents, thus promoting the connection between chip talents and domestic chip enterprises.

Liang Quan, vice president of marketing and ecology, Arm China

Mr. Liang Quan, Vice President of Marketing and Ecology of AMO China, presided over the interactive communication session of the following salon. Guests raised questions and shared with each other on university talent training and industry talent exchange. Participants said that talent training is crucial to the chip industry. Under the careful organization of the host parties, it is possible to work with many industry masters to make suggestions for the development of the industry, which makes this weekend of great significance.

Arm China’s Jishu Community will continue to help the connection between the technical talents in IC and the industrial enterprise ecology, and make a contribution to chip talent training.
