Last year, I recommended OS X clipboard management tool Paste, which has gradually become one of my most frequently used applications in the past year. In particular, Paste has greatly improved my operation efficiency by interspersing various operations between apps.

The Paste team quietly released the Paste 2 beta a couple of days ago. I just received a test invitation from the developer, and I would like to share it with you. Generally speaking, compared with the first version, there are many improvements and functional enhancements.

Paste 2 and 1 have the same main functions. By default, +Shift+V is used to activate the application. It is recommended that you select boot and direct paste.

The biggest complaint about old Paste is that it uses too much power. It was very intrusive and was removed in V2 Beta.

The new version also adds a new feature called Pinboard in the app (unrelated to pinboard.in [1]). Allow users to create new groups and save some commonly used content in the groups (figure below).

This functionality is similar to Unclutter and Dropshelf [2], which simply copies the target information and then activates the app to adjust it to the appropriate group. At present, the operation of adding different groups is not convenient enough, hopefully it will be improved in the official release.

The new Settings interface has also been tweaked accordingly. The first is the addition of shortcut keys to switch between different Pinboards, while users can use “+1…9” to quickly select history for pasting, and “+ Shift +1…9” to paste in plain text mode.

Overall, the new Paste is pretty good. Pinboard will take a while to try out, but it should be useful when working on a specific project. This app should be on the Mac’s must-have list.

————– PinDesign membership program ————–

A few days ago, I was invited to answer a question on Zhihu about how to properly use Toast and Dialog. This is a problem that many designers struggle with, especially when it comes to working on both iOS and Android. We have a lot of Web designers on our team who get confused when they move to an application, which leads to a very confusing final design.

Whether on iOS or Android, the prompt can be basically divided into Toast, Snackbar and Dialog. In a horizontal comparison, Toast, Snackbar and Dialog are from light to heavy in terms of user experience, and can be used according to the intention of product functions.

The theme of PinDesign #25’s weekly membership issue is: “Toast, Snackbar, Dialog.” , welcome to join PinDesign member for further understanding.
