Now there are a lot of free project management tools on the market, but once the wrong tool is used in the work, it is not free or free, if the impact on the overall progress of the project, the loss is not worth the gain. With the goal of saving project managers money and effort, we’re taking a look at some of the most popular project management tools to see which ones are the best:

1.JIRA

Introduction:

JIRA can track team building and produce great results. Countless teams have chosen JIRA for project problem location and resolution, work assignment, and team activity tracking. Whether sitting at a desk or on the road, JIRA’s new mobile interface makes it easy for your team to get things done.

Evaluation experience:

Advantages:

What I like most about JIRA is its flexibility, which comes in handy for people with various types and sizes of tasks at hand. You have the flexibility to adjust Windows, work areas, workflows, share task assignments across projects, import work issues from Github, and assign intelligentially. The most useful for me personally is the multi-project progress board. Each project can have a dedicated process board, or you can display multiple projects on the same process board. Since I switch between different projects every day, this design makes it easier for me to organize my work week.

Another great feature of this software compared to other project management software I have tried is its powerful search function. You can even write a very complex query command in SQL (structured Query Language) to search if you want. This will include batch operations in the search results.

Inadequate:

The cloud version is sometimes a bit slow, and you can’t choose more than one search result. You can select multiple runs from the returned results, but not several… You can only choose one. There is no mobile app.

2. Huawei Cloud DevCloud

introduce

DevCloud (Huawei Software Development Cloud) is a cloud platform integrating Huawei’s R&D practices, cutting-edge R&D concepts, and advanced r&d tools, providing developers with end-to-end r&d tool services. Project Management is one of the DevCloud services dedicated to providing agile development teams with simple and efficient development collaboration services.

Evaluation experience:

Advantages:

The overall functionality of DevCloud is powerful.

Its project management provides a wealth of statistical services, including iteration management chart, burn out chart, work item completion statistics chart, statistical tables, project members statistical management, etc. It also provides document management and encyclopedia functions to facilitate collaboration and sharing among team members. Leangoo’s snapshot sharing feature allows you to quickly share kanban content with relevant people via QR code, which is another highlight.

DevCloud project management is based on project management and provides two management services, namely streamlined process and Scrum process. The Scrum process is tailored for agile development, including project planning, agile iteration, requirements management, defect tracking, document management, kanban, report statistical analysis and other functions. The project planning function can use the visualized interface in the form of mind map to split the project into Epic/Feature/User Story levels. The planned User Story is displayed as a kanban in the project Backlog,

Inadequate:

It would be nice if we could add some functionality to the team and individual employee hours statistics.

3.Wrike

introduce

Wrike is an “all in one” project management software that helps teams work remotely and improvise on projects more efficiently. Coordination features and full freedom to set tasks and folders enable an uninterrupted workflow for the entire team, get work done faster, and leave more time on the last day of the project.

Overall project management and implementation

Evaluation experience:

Advantages:

The creative scheduling feature in the Wrike folder allows us to schedule tasks by section and client type. Through the software’s specially designed API (application Programming interface), we can directly generate a consumer market report on the project results each month.

Inadequate:

I know the Wrike team has worked hard on this, but I don’t think the system’s default missions and reports are very useful.

That’s not why I’m not saying anything against Wrike, because Wrike isn’t just for us. When we use it, there are dozens of indicators, combined with multiple sources, denoted by red/yellow/green. Unless we are the only company using this software, I don’t think we can solve these problems.

4.TRELLO

introduce

“Organize any integrable tasks.” TRELLO is a project coordination tool that organizes project progress and presents it on a taskboard. With TRELLO, it’s easy to see what projects we’re working on, what parts of the project each person is responsible for, and what steps we’re on. All your projects, tasks, and team members become organized and reliable. Even new users can immediately understand the functionality of lists and cards and be up and running within minutes.

Evaluation experience:

Advantages:

Since I’m a software design and development engineer, I’ve always liked the Kanban approach, especially when I work with teams.

TRELLO is the Kanban Conference network.

What I like most about it is how simple it is. You can use important features like tagging, deadlines, polls and comments in 20 seconds and get started.

Software architecture is also interesting: you can co-create teams with team members, share tasks in real time, and collaborate easily. Filtering is advanced and can be done by task, tag, and other functions. Keyboard shortcuts are great for people with tight schedules.

If you apply to become a TRELLO Gold card member, there are many benefits. Gold membership is great, and while it doesn’t have a lot of extra features, you can have more freedom, add a few different colors to your task board, and unlock some interesting little stickers. It’s also cheap, you can buy it and try it on…

Inadequate:

The tool does have some downsides, one of which I have to mention is that it’s not compatible with official Slack, which many teams use.

5.Basecamp

introduce

Trusted by millions of users, Basecamp is a web-based, leading project management and collaboration tool. Have a task list, files, messages, schedule and project major node arrangements and other functions.

Evaluation experience:

Advantages:

I like the project milestones and to-do list features of this software. I can assign to-do lists to specific people on the project. This greatly reduces the likelihood of other team members reworking their work. I can also create projects and share them with our customers so they can work with us. Another feature I like is that I can clearly see who can view what items and only send messages to those who need them.

Inadequate:

One thing I don’t like is that if new team members join after the initial setup, you have to text them individually. They may not always be able to comment unless the administrator adds them to a group. Also, if you hire a new person, they won’t necessarily be able to see the progress of the project and plan ahead. It would be even better if they were allowed to operate freely and see the progress of ongoing projects. Another thing I don’t like is the way Basecamp arranges the names of people or companies when creating new projects. I think it would be better if the first company on the list were ourselves and the rest were in alphabetical order.

To do a good job, he must sharpen his tools. Sharpening a knife does not mistake cutting wood. A good tool can do more with less. An inefficient tool can keep you in a cycle of overtime. Which of the above project management tools will you pick?
