A few days ago, I wrote an article titled “How did I spend my first six months as a Freelancer?” I’ve been back in the workforce lately, like a defeated child, aggrieved and reluctant, and not much to brag about.
Can also imagine a year ago, when my father know I was trying to persuade me to resign, for several consecutive calls are the same theme, elders always hope their children can have a stable job, and my attitude is very firmly, I told my father “is one thing I must do, and I will be able to make it”, the old daddy see I also have to forget about it, But I’ve only been saying that for six months, and I’ve already been smacked in the face…
“Everything must be done” is my motto in life, and MY past experience has shown me that I did everything I wanted to do: go into programming, buy a car and buy a house at 25, finish two and a half horses in a row in my first year of running (22km), read dozens of books a year, etc.
The experience of doing something makes me feel that I can succeed this time, however…
Why did you come back?
Because you didn’t make any money?
NO! If it was just a matter of money, it would be easy. My earnings in the first half of the year were higher than when I was working, and much higher, six paid columns and public accounts.
Then why did you come back to work?
The main reason for coming back to work is that the Java training I am currently engaged in is consistent with my long-term goal and direction. Joining this team will enable me to grow rapidly and grow together with a group of excellent partners with the same goal. You know, freelancing is so lonely.
My long-term goal and direction is to do skills training, software training is one of them, and I have done this for some time, in a broad sense, all knowledge output belongs to skills training, for example, I wrote a blog for 10 years before, in fact, it is also a kind of skills training (graphic).
Coincidentally, I had gone to see if I could take a part-time class and ended up on board. There are two main reasons for joining the ship: First, I agree with the founders’ idea of doing education seriously. We are all of the same age and can talk well with each other. We have the same goal, direction and philosophy. Second, with a group of excellent people, I believe I can go further.
How to get off to a fast start?
I am never afraid of challenges or starting from scratch, just like in 2017 when I gave up everything I had worked for 8 years to start again in Shanghai. Of course, only courage is not enough, you also need to have a methodology of your own.
Here’s my methodology, which consists of two important steps and two related techniques for anyone just starting out.
Two important steps
- Master the minimum necessary knowledge;
- Repeat the practice.
As far as I am concerned, there are at least two things I need to know:
- First, it is not difficult for me to understand the content, theoretical knowledge and sample code of the course.
- Secondly, I need to convey these knowledge clearly and accurately to students, so I need to prepare each class carefully.
Repeated practice goes without saying. Behind any success there must be countless repeated practices.
Two related tips
- Accept your initial clumsiness calmly. Don’t compare what others have saved up now with what you haven’t saved up now, but what you can expect in the future with what others have saved up now.
- Focus. When you focus, time goes by quickly. For example, when we focus on something, it feels like time is flying by, so in a sense, the only way to get through your initial phase quickly is to focus.
With the above two important steps and two related tips, you will surely make progress quickly.
PS: The main criterion to judge whether a person’s executive ability is strong is to see whether the person can persist in doing one thing in adversity.
