I liked Instagram very much when it first came out. I was using An Android phone at that time and tried it at the first time when the Android version came out.

In 2014, as Instagram became inaccessible in China, I always hoped to make an Instagram-like product

Clear design, pure display, large picture and white space.

A product that maintains the best presentation of pictures in terms of aesthetic texture and functional restraint.

In 2015, he tried with his friends, but was unable to make the trip due to his limited ability. On the Chinese-language Internet, a similar product never seems to have emerged, and Instagram has never been directly accessible. (There may have been some products later, but none of them had the Insgtagram design texture, such as Oasis, etc.).

And 7 years later, I temporarily realized my idea through a small program, ^_^

Small program: FUTAKE

FUTAKE is a product that shares pictures and text about your inspiration moments.

There will be a different UI every day, 7 days a week. Images in different container environments will show a different texture every day.

Welcome to search “FUTAKE” on wechat.

Different from Instagram

  • 7 days a week, different UI every day (different art containers will show different textures)
  • Can share pure text (no pictures, text UI also varies according to the number of words)
  • Douyin sliding switching (only one work is displayed on each screen, simple switching, similar to mobile phone photo album sliding switching)
  • Use the “friends” system instead of the “follow” system (outside of the circle of friends, a new scene to share ideas with friends)
  • No filter (the publishing process becomes concise and the image expression is more clear and direct)

Why is it different?

  • Tiktok’s full-screen sliding switch is a great innovation in product interaction. There is a sense of control in swiping (for example, in mobile photo albums). And swiping is also faster than scrolling when viewing images (for example, Instagram might require two or three taps and swipes, instead of one swipe).
  • About the “friend” system. At present, almost all social products are based on “follow” system (such as “media” designed products represented by Weibo and Douyin). People’s social instincts actually fall into two categories: one is to learn about the environment by reading news; the other is to share the environment with friends. “Friend” relationships with people are also more subtle and have a different sense of connection than “follow” relationships. So hopefully, in addition to a lot of “follow” products, there will be a product about “friends”.
