• I wanted to send web articles from my iPhone or iPad to my Kindle, and to do so, I wrote an ios-based application called Comfy Read. IOS 8 supports App Extension, which allows Apple devices to access a small amount of structured information about any App with a click of the magic “Share” arrow button. This feature is enough for me. I just need to find the URL of the article and send it to the server. The server then reads the article, converts it into a mobi file that the Kindle can recognize, and sends it to Amazon. From there, the article can be transferred to the e-book device.

  • One of the reasons I did this was to look at the new features of iOS 8 from a developer’s perspective, while also solving my own practical problems. I wonder if others are looking for such apps. I read every night before I go to bed. During the day, I often post articles from my iPhone, iPad or browser to my Kindle. I’m looking forward to putting my first iOS App on the App Store and seeing for myself what a real transaction looks like. It never occurred to me to market the app because I simply didn’t have the time. But I wanted to do an experiment. Just search and download the app in the app store without any promotion. How does the app sell?
