Oh, it’s so hard to read all this stuff, it makes my head turn to mush. Can we just keep it simple? What is information after all? What is digital? What is digital transformation? What’s the difference between the three of them? What’s the connection?

I asked myself, before I started digitizing, I couldn’t tell the difference. I also asked a lot of senior practitioners in the data industry, and they basically have no clear distinction between informatization and digitalization. I asked my friends who work in the Internet industry, and they told me that they don’t know what informatization is. Why does this happen? On the other hand, why did the traditional newspaper industry begin its digital transformation around 2005? How strange are these phenomena? What explains these phenomena?

As we have discussed before, the dividing point between informatization and digitalization is the birth of the fifth factor of production, so we can clearly distinguish what is informatization and what is digitalization, and what is the boundary between them. But what further? What is digital transformation? What is the relationship between digitization and digital transformation? What is the relationship between informatization, digitization and digital transformation? What comes after the digital transformation?
