I wrote an article about interviewing from an interviewer’s perspective and got some good feedback. Recently, as the department is recruiting a large number of people, I browse dozens of resumes every day. It is found that many people do not understand the needs of applicants, want to write a resume to cover all aspects, but there is no point in writing, the final resume is nothing, thus writing this article, about the personal feelings of writing a resume.

A resume is an advertisement

It is not a sale, a show or a game. It is a market behavior in which two parties negotiate a contract. The candidate is the measure of benefits and their own value, the employer is the balance of costs and benefits.

This is a long-term cooperation, pay according to the work of a win-win model. So it’s not a good idea for a view to try to cover up its inadequacies with tricks. So resume, must be true ~ do not lie

In fact, as an applicant, is what kind of ability I have, can bring what value. To return to the front end is nothing more than the mastery of technology and business understanding. Or a few years before work, the assessment of the latter a little easier.

So the resume is essentially a stepping stone to this negotiation, but also an “advertising” business card for us. So what we need to do is to highlight our own bright spot and ability in this advertisement!!

  • Personal website, blog address, Github (plus, but make sure it’s a plus, not a self-defeating one)

The basic information part should be relatively general. Note that education is marked! 985/211/ Undergraduate/Junior College.

Secondly is the working life, some students will deliberately elongate their working life, in fact, I personally feel completely unnecessary. With fewer years on the job, you can make up for the lack of project experience by building up on your own, which may even be a plus. And the length of working years, it will appear mediocre. When we recruit bu, if the working years are more than 5 years, the basic interview at p6 level is very, very difficult.

So treasure every year you work. I hope that every year you work, is a kind of accumulation and growth. With three years of experience, you should be 1+1+1, not 1x1x1.

Just to get a sense of it

This whole list of skills is really uninspiring. I even received a list of personal skills including vscode, webStorm, echarts and even computer level 2 and mandarin certificate. It gives a direct impression that you may really have no skills…

In a list of skills, I recommend not listing the front end, because in the eyes of an employer, that’s all you should know. You can choose to brush it off. Emphasize the most familiar with the most proficient point a thick and heavy color. React: Know React, read React source code thoroughly.

So my advice for this part is to highlight, focus on bold. If not, keep it short. The second is that in addition to proficient, it is not recommended to add proficiency and other modifiers.

Work experience

  • The name of the company

  • position

  • At the time

  • A short summary of your achievements or achievements (if any highlights)

This part is not too much to say, well-known enterprises please bring the logo or font bold. Highlight!

On point 4 above, brief introduction of work content and achievements. Dispensable. Have, must be bright spot just write up. For example, the technical director, for example, the best employee for three consecutive years, etc

Work experience should be grouped together with project experience to be clear.

Project Experience (Important)

This is a very important part of your resume. If the front did not find the label of famous enterprises, famous schools, then there is no bright spot here, then the basic cool 80%

Let me start with this part, which I see a lot:

Meaningless description

The above project description is basically “nonsense”. It’s not useful information, you can’t see the bright spot, you can’t judge the candidate’s technical ability.

Lack of highlights and summary

It’s not a good example to take screenshots of a resume you recently received. Let me give you a personal example

The author has just graduated when the network around the world to do front-end development. When I interviewed Ali, one of the projects in my resume was the development of the official client of Global TIME.

The general description is to study RN in one week, independently complete client development and successfully launch.

Highlight learning ability, project importance and successful implementation.

Or for example, the development and reconstruction of the auction core application detail page that I have been maintaining in my business this year. And thinking about the source code page. Summary of relevant articles:

The above examples are just to illustrate that we should have our own thinking and summary and precipitation output when doing projects. Of course, the specific implementation of how to describe the resume, the following length will be introduced.

Repeat tautology

This is also a deadly problem.

Many students have done many projects, especially those who worked in outsourcing companies. Your resume lists about a dozen projects. But on closer inspection it’s the same type. It can also make the employer feel that the project type is monotonous and not qualified for the type of job they are looking for.

How to write project experience

Was single little sister once in the group hair: Ali side: around the project, ask the realization of principle, Ali two sides: around the project, about design, Ali three sides: around the project, ask product thinking, Ali four sides: around the project, ask loopholes. So when we write about our project experience, we use that as bait to get the interest of interviewers and recruiters.

Want to reflect:

  • What exactly did you do
  • What are the technical designs
  • What are the pain points of the project? How to solve it? How many solutions are there? How to choice
  • Thinking about business value and its own precipitation
  • Project harvest
  • It is best to present relevant data

If you don’t understand typography, keep it short. Be sure to reflect your role and abilities in the project.

Additional Tips

  • Add a summary of your strengths, but don’t use words like “logical,” “love the front end,” and “hard-working.” Maybe you can state the highlights of your resume in this position. You can also add some additional information. For example, the author of XXX Books. Here you can compare and feel:

    • If there is no famous schools, famous enterprises endorsement, more summary thinking precipitation, and then protruding this part of the value. Including but not limited to writing articles, open source projects, etc. (The simplest writing articles, stick to it, you will have unexpected gains and growth)
    • Keep your resume short. Condense your most important content to one or two pages at most; Whittle your most important keywords down to the most prominent ones. Don’t add long paragraphs of text. Long paragraphs are a resume killer. Do not mix too much personal feelings, personal experience of the text, really no one read.
    • If you’re selecting a company, do some research on the company’s products, including the technology used, and prepare a short technical analysis of the company’s products for your resume. Of course, most of them will be used in the interview process
