Many people have doubts about the tool selection. There is a difference between statements and BI. It is better to choose domestic tools with the products of foreign giant manufacturers.

Without any nonsense, I would like to share my experience in the report selection of a party A, because PPT cannot be shared, so THE essence of which is extracted to share.

Project origin

Party A belongs to the consumer industry. In the past two years, party A has been engaged in new retail, digital retail and online and offline integration through financing. The industry has been expanding rapidly and at a fast speed, with fierce competition of the same kind and strong demand for data analysis.

In the past, information was used as part of SAP’s solution, including reporting. However, the informatization focus of the group in the past two years is data. It is necessary to break through the data layer and make some innovative data applications centering on the new retail scenarios. The current front-end data applications are mainly report tools, which cannot meet the functional requirements.

** Data collection. ** Currently there are many tasks and objectives, which require data entry. The data entry function of the current report is weak and cannot be integrated.

** Mobile data application requirements. ** More than 20 stores need to report data every day, especially real-time access to fresh inventory data. In addition, item scan code data, membership scan code purchase, and small program online purchase data also need to be opened.

** Report development efficiency. ** The development efficiency of mobile terminal is low, many systems can not be integrated, the basic need for code development, and the mobile terminal report tool is inflexible, can not support drilling, linkage and other routine operations, so it cannot support the more intuitive CEO Kanban.

** is weak in analysis. ** The current report is more based on the presentation of past data, and the presentation is not enough, let alone the analysis

The data security function is weak. The report cannot encrypt exported files, and the mobile terminal does not have the watermark function.

Product maturity

Product maturity is the choice of IT products need to be considered, foreign products are mature but backward update, domestic product maturity to try.

Domestic reporting tools VS foreign reporting tools

Domestic reporting tools can be upgraded quickly, can support customized development, and support personalized reporting requirements, operation and maintenance response speed, cheap, but some tools are not perfect.

Foreign report tools have more powerful and stable functions, but they cannot effectively meet the needs of domestic personalized reports, and are slow to be upgraded, unable to be customized, slow to respond to problems, and expensive (charging according to users).

Traditional reporting tools vs. Agile reporting tools

Traditional report tools are powerful and stable on the PC, but cost a lot to learn and bind with other products, resulting in high maintenance cost and difficulty in upgrading.

Agile report tools are easy to use, high degree of visualization, low threshold of use, easy to upgrade, but most of the Chinese complex report functions are slightly weak.
