In fact, I’ve been trying for interviews for the last 20 days.

My university is in a second-tier coastal city that is not a provincial capital. In fact, there are few famous big companies here. Like us to learn IT, we may want to try to enter a large company internship, work, I am the same. But I don’t want to leave the city without graduation, so I’m looking for an internship. It’s like finding a partner. If it’s a mutual love affair, if there’s a company that wants me, and I want to stay, then be happy as an intern. If not, consider it an interview experience.

In this way, I have been to no less than five companies for interviews this holiday season. Here are some of my own experiences.

1. How did I get an interview?

(1) The first one is that my teacher knows the boss of a software company and recommended me to the interview.

(2) Second: receive an invitation on the recruitment website;

(3) The third kind: in the recruitment website of their own resume, and receive an interview invitation.

2. What types of companies are you interviewing with these days?

(1) Software outsourcing company: As far as I know, software outsourcing is a company that specializes in contracting software projects of other enterprises.

(2) We media companies: We media are also inseparable from information computing, so they also recruit programmers;

(3) Third-party payment companies: specializing in dealing with money.

3. What are the categories of the interview process? Let me give you some examples

The companies I interviewed for these days generally went well. I received notices one after another asking me to report, but I finally gave up the internship opportunities for one reason or another. Before the interview, I usually send them an e-resume so that they can get a basic picture of me. Interview content can be divided into the following categories from easy to difficult:

(1) Interview: don’t ask technology: this is the interview of the “play money” third-party payment company, because it is cooperation with the school, it can be said that it needs to be fixed post training. When entering the company, you will not be directly hired. You will be trained according to your favorite technology and the company, and finally become an employee of the company. But there is a monthly allowance. I feel that for the students who have learned the computer programming foundation in school, even if they have no development experience now, it is not a big problem to take up the post after training. So companies that work with schools, they don’t care so much about your current skills, they’re willing to take the time to develop you, so it’s not that difficult.

(2) Interview: The boss doesn’t know technology, talks about technology: AFTER I posted my resume on a recruitment website, I was invited to an interview with a start-up we-media company and went there. But the boss didn’t understand the technology, he just saw the projects he had done. He talked with me about the company’s plans and hoped that I could develop and maintain related software systems for the company. This boss doesn’t know the technology, but he or she has, and you need to show them projects that show you have the skills to do the job. It’s not that hard, as long as you have the ability and the willingness to come in and take care of startup technology.

(3) Interview: Don’t ask about technology, talk about technology: I first clearly write in the resume what I can, what I have done, the interviewer will usually look at my resume before the interview. In the face of software outsourcing companies, they hope you will be more, because you may meet different development needs in the company, and a person may have to finish a lot of work, can imagine more tired. When I go to these outsourcing companies for interviews, they usually don’t ask too many technical questions, and it’s a simple format of asking what you’ve done and what your plans are. They usually end by telling you about the development techniques they’re using, what the project is, and asking if you can do it.

(4) First written test, then interview: ask about technology, talk about technology: this should be a more formal interview process, which includes several steps. I met this situation in a company that was supposed to be a data analysis company. First, I had a written test, then an interview with HR, and finally two rounds of interviews with two different interviewers. The written test is about skills and knowledge related to the position you are interviewing for. I interviewed Java, so the written test in this interview includes not only the basic knowledge of Java, but also the basic knowledge of data structure, database and network. This is relatively formal interview, you need to have special skills in addition to the written test ability, but also need to have interview ability.

4. After the interview, why don’t you go to the internship?

The main reason is that the companies I went to interview are too far away from the school, and there are classes next semester, so it is not convenient. Besides, I don’t want to leave the city after graduation, so my desire for internship is not so strong. More should be the first to understand the interview process, to help their future career.

5. What should I pay attention to during the interview?

(1) If you are looking for a job, write your own projects on your resume, even some good demos;

(2) During the interview, you must be confident, polite and express your true thoughts. The interview is nothing more than a chat, and the better the chat, the more helpful you will be.

(3) Instead of saying things like “I don’t have much experience and skills, and I want to improve myself in the company,” be sure to express your ability and value with confidence.

(4) It is recommended that you do not ask about your salary immediately upon arrival. You can ask yourself more about what you should pay attention to after entering the company, what projects you should participate in and so on, and pay more attention to whether you can be competent for this job. Great. When they want to keep you, they’ll talk to you about your salary
