preface

Why don’t we talk about tools today?

What Markdown writing tools does XDM use?

Here are some Markdown writing tools I’ve used or tried.

MWeb

I’ve been using MWeb for a long time, and the reason I used this paid MarkDown writing tool was because a colleague bought it and I could fuck for nothing.

MWeb wasn’t as versatile and complex as it is today, mostly for local writing.

Taking a look at the current blurb, it has more and more features (you probably don’t need them) and is really a professional Markdown writing tool.

If you are interested, you can go to the website or the App Store to download the non-paid version and try it out.

VSCode

As programmers around the world know, VSCode can definitely be a second IDE to your computer, in addition to the native IDE (which is the IDE for your programming language).

Write a Markdown, of course, under the plugin, you can start masturbation.

Below is my VSCode installed plug-in, just for your reference, to be honest, I have no idea how I downloaded so many Markdown plug-ins:

VSCode

Boostnote

Markdown is open source software for Windows, Linux and Mac.

I have used this software for more than a year, and I feel good, but the startup speed is a little slow.

Software is called Markdown software for programmers.

Note that Boost Note is open source free software and Boost Note is paid software.

Here I send you the free download address:

The Releases installation package on Github

I haven’t updated it for more than a year, but I’m not so diligent.

typora

Currently I am trying the Markdown writing tool.

Typora has the following advantages:

  • The software is small, less than 30M.

  • Fast startup speed. It’s really fast compared to Boostnote.

  • Currently free. Although the site says at the end:

*Typora will finally cost 9 ~ 15$ per license, subscribe to get notified when it get out of beta.*

But it’s a really good experience and worth buying if you pay for it later.

Xcode

Yes, you read that right. If you’re an iOS developer, I can tell you in all seriousness that Xcode can do Markdown writing. Written in playground:

Impression of notes

Evernote can write Markdown, but I rarely open Evernote.

Why?

This app is, I don’t know, love and hate.

When it was first used in 2016, it was ahead of its time. The key was that it was easy to use and could be uploaded online, making it basically a great tool for cutting and collecting data.

Unfortunately, now basically do not pay a fee can not be used, advertising fly all over the place, not pure more and more.

The clipping function has too little traffic, and if you need a lot of network clipping, you may accidentally lose traffic.

If you want to use Evernote, the web version is recommended.

Language finches

The vocalist is in some ways equivalent to Evernote.

Language finch is currently more focused on PC (only web version and PC software), knowledge sharing, document management, network cutting, sharing and other functions it has.

Markdown is basically a write-and-convert, and I still don’t know how to switch to Markdown’s source mode, or not at all?

With it is more both cloud preservation and paste, and white piao version of the flow is large enough, do not want X like notes.

Right now, Language is my main focus on the need to keep documents in the cloud.

conclusion

In this article, I’ve listed six Markdown writing tools.

My personal recommendations are Boostnote and Wordfinch, one for local writing and the other for cloud saving.

VSCode is certainly versatile, and the writing experience is not bad, if you are a cleanliness freak and don’t like to install too much software, VSCode is also a great way to write.

If you don’t refuse to pay, MWeb and Typora can also be tried, and you may be happy with the free version.

I don’t recommend evernote.

After all, Xcode is in a minority, so maybe I’ll write an article about Markdown.

What Markdown writing tools does XDM use? Give me your Markdown writing tool, Amway.

We’ll see you next time.
