In 2020, Apple released the Mousepad for the iPad, a version of the keyboard with an integrated trackpad.

Let’s take a closer look at Apple’s clever keyboard controls and how they work.

The Apple Magic Keyboard is the default keyboard for Apple devices. It was first launched in 2015 as a successor to Apple’s wireless keyboard. In the years since, the design has been modified, as well as expanded versions. The company’s experience-focused approach to design means the keyboard seamlessly integrates with your Apple devices, including the MacBook, iMac, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

Most keyboards are also designed for Windows computers, with different key layouts and platform-specific functions. The Apple Clever keyboard, on the other hand, is designed to work with MacOS or iPados devices.

The standard clunky keyboard uses a QWERTY layout, but does not have a numeric keypad. For those who prefer a numeric keypad integrated with the keyboard, Apple has also released a clunky keyboard with a numeric keypad.

The click-control keyboard uses a scissor-like mechanism for keystroke operations. This is in sharp contrast to the often criticized butterfly mechanism in many of the company’s laptops. The butterfly mechanism is designed to shorten the distance the keys travel and make the laptop thinner.

However, the Miaoku keyboard uses a redesigned scissor-like mechanism that makes keys one-third more stable and reduces key travel compared to the previous generation of Apple’s wireless keyboard.

The keyboard connects wirelessly via Bluetooth, and there’s a Lightning port for charging the battery. However, you don’t have to use it very often because the battery can last up to a month before needing to be recharged.

The original control keyboard is available in silver, with white keys.

While the clickable keyboard works with most Bluetooth-enabled Apple devices, the company also offers a clickable keyboard for the iPad.

How to connect the keyboard to the Mac

If you buy a new iMac or Mac Pro, just a few steps:

Connect the keyboard to the Mac using the included Lightning to USB cable.

Use the switch in the upper right corner of the keyboard to open the keypad.

The keyboard will automatically pair with your MacOS device.

After the connection, you can use the keypad wirelessly.

What is a click-control keyboard? An experience-centric approach has helped Apple become one of the most successful technology companies in the world. Its products are designed to integrate well with each other, and the Mile keyboard is a good example of this. The keyboard works with most Bluetooth-enabled Apple devices, and there’s even one for the iPad with an integrated trackpad.

However, you may find that the click-control keyboard does not suit your Settings. There are plenty of alternatives that might be better value for money.
