Why don’t GitHub pictures show up? Today I’ll show you the solution.

1. What is a picture bed?

Picture bed, as the name suggests, is a bed for pictures to sleep, which is a special server for pictures. Once the desired image is placed on the server, it will have an address that can be used to open the image on the Internet.

In the Illustrated SQL Interview Questions ebook project on GitHub, you’ll notice that I’ve added an Image folder to the directory page, dedicated to images.

At present, in this e-book project, most of the pictures used are stored on the public platform, which is to use the public as a map bed.

However, the public account does not support external access to some images, meaning that when you copy the link from the public account, it will not be displayed on other platforms. How to solve this problem?

At this point, you need to upload the picture to GitHub and use GitHub as a map bed.

2. How to make a map bed?

If you’re working on a project with a lot of images, it can be time-consuming to upload them to GitHub one by one, so I used PicGo, an image upload tool that allows you to quickly upload images to GitHub.

PicGo can be downloaded at github.com/Molunerfinn…

Click the red box in the following image to download and install

Next, configure the image upload tool PicGo.

1) Generate a Token on Github

Click the Setting button on the home page

When you go in, click Developer Setting

Select Personal Access Tokens, then click Generate New Tokens to fill in the description, select Repo permissions, then click the Generate Token button

After completing the above steps, a string of tokens will be generated. This string of tokens will not be displayed again, so when you see it for the first time, you can create a text file and save it well.

2) Configure PicGo

Open the image upload tool PicGo

When setting the warehouse name, it is in the format of “account name/warehouse name”.

Enter Main as the branch name.

Paste the previous Token here

This will create a “XXX/XXX/XXXXX/” folder in your repository, but you can define your own folder name

The function of custom domain name is to upload pictures after successful, picture upload tool PicGo will “custom domain name + uploaded picture name” generated access link.

Modify PicGo Settings to enable upload prompt, so that after a successful upload prompt.

Select the GitHub Graph Bed in the Upload area and drag and drop the image to the upload area. The image will be automatically uploaded to the corresponding folder on GitHub.

Then, replace the GitHub image link address with the current image link address, and the image will appear normally.
