Yesterday, ViaBTC, the world’s third largest mining pool, announced that it will launch ViaBTC Token (VIAT) on October 8 (HKT). At the same time, ViaBTC’s exchange brand CoinEx also issued a notice that the ViaBTC Token has been opened on the CoinEx accelerator.

The ViaBTC Token is the equity certificate of the ViaBTC ecological community, which serves as fuel and value transfer tool in the ViaBTC ecosystem. It is issued under the Wormhole protocol with a total amount of 2 billion and will never be issued again. 50% of VIAT will be distributed gradually in the form of mining incentives, 37.5% through accelerated support distributions, and 12.5% through partner support distributions. Each quarter, 20% of ViaBTC’s revenues will be used for secondary market buybacks and destruction. The application scenarios of VIAT described in the white paper include mining pool rate concessions, exclusive customer service, payment for mining machines, transaction accelerators, ViaBTC souvenirs and other products.

Wormhole officials would like to congratulate VIAT on its successful launch. Although VIAT is not the first Token based on the Wormhole protocol, it is the first of many tokens issued through the Wormhole protocol to have practical application and commercial value. This is a breakthrough for the Wormhole protocol, and also a great feat for the Wormhole protocol to be known to the public again.

According to the Wormhole browser, IT can be clearly seen that VIAT has been born. It is the 192nd Token based on the Wormhole protocol and belongs to the fixed Token in the Wormhole protocol, with a total of 2 billion.

Second, wormhole officials wish VIAT a successful acceleration. VIAT has been announced in the Accelerator section of the CoinEx platform and will start acceleration on October 8 at 21:00 (HKT). Accelerator is the CoinEx platform for CoinEx users to support quality projects and participate in the development of projects. Once VIAT project acceleration is enabled, CoinEx platform users can use CET and WHC to support project acceleration and get corresponding proportion of VIAT. Platform VIP users and CET lock-in users enjoy the priority of acceleration. This is also a boon for WHC users.

Finally, Wormhole officials welcome more projects to issue tokens using the Wormhole protocol. VIAT’s choice of the Wormhole protocol to issue tokens has proved the availability of the Wormhole protocol. The Wormhole protocol is a smart contract solution based on BCH. It is secure, efficient and highly scalable. It can issue coins using the Wormhole protocol with low transaction fees and effectively solve the current transaction congestion problem. The issuing mode of the Wormhole protocol is hard coded in the Wormhole protocol. It does not rely on smart contracts, and only a few parameters are required to issue coins immediately, which is simple and secure.

At present, the Wormhole project has launched the Go language SDK on the basis of its client, and the development progress is very good. Moreover, several wallets have added support for the wormhole protocol. More projects are welcome to join the Wormhole ecosystem!
