People often say that Linux is not a good system to use, in fact, I think it is probably the reason why most people start with Windows. I switched from Windows to Linux (Ubuntu) about a year and a half ago. After more than a year of time I don’t think the Linux system imagination harder to use, daily use at least I think no problem, and I think that is more useful than Windows (because a lot of software decompression can be directly used, or a few commands in the command window input statement system will automatically help you installed). So this time I will list my daily use of software, recently a lot of people asked me how to install the XX software on Ubuntu ah, maybe too long, some software have forgotten how to do, so this is to make notes for myself, review it. Here’s a desktop image from my own system:

The software in the bottom bar starts from left to right:

The first one is Docky

This app is the bottom bar, and since Ubuntu doesn’t have it, the bottom is done by Docky. The installation method is very simple: execute the following two statements on the line, and then add the software you want, and finally set the Docky to automatically start upon startup

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install docker
Copy the code

The second software is the wechat client

This software is not official wechat, it is a third party open source software hosted on Github. Installation is simple: github.com/geeeeeeeeek… This is the download address, if your computer is 32-bit to download the 32-bit version, if it is 64-bit to download the 64-bit version. Unzip the downloaded package to where you want to put it, then open the folder and double-click or right-click to run the file shown in the arrow below. And then it’s ready to go.

The fourth piece of software is Java Decompiler

This is to view the Java class file tool very good, do not need to install, directly download the installation of the web is good.

The fifth and sixth are WebStorm and PyCharm

These two pieces of software should be known by developers. The company that makes this software is super easy to use. Install not to say, directly go to the official website to download Linux tar package download decompression can be used.

The seventh software is Eclipse

I also do development, but I did not download this in Eclipse official website, is directly installed in Ubuntu installation software. Also very useful. I just think the icon of Eclipse is very nice. (PS: I always use IDEA. You don’t want to go back to the IDE before using IDEA.)

The eighth software is Android Studio

Android app development tools, directly download and install the official website. It’s easy.

Number 9 and 10 are MySQL Workbench, Emma

Mysql visualization software, these two are directly in the Ubuntu installation software, we search to install, Ubuntu will automatically help us solve the dependency issues.

The eleventh secureCRT

SecureCRT is an ideal tool for connecting and running including [Windows], [UNIX] and VMS. If it is to do background development people should be able to use this software. This installation background needs to be cracked, which is quite troublesome. I installed it through this tutorial before.

Unexpected, netease cloud music client should support Linux terminal. Have to say netease really too conscience. We can directly download the installation package on the official website of netease Cloud Music and install it. Address. I like using netease Cloud music very much (although sometimes I am upset because of copyright issues, haha)

Well, there seems to be nothing left to say.

Finally, I would like to talk about the problem of using QQ on Ubuntu. Many people say that using QQ on Linux is very inconvenient. Well! Yes, but I recently found a program that makes it easy for me to use QQ on Linux. That software is CrossOver! The purpose of this software is to enable us to run Windows programs on the Linux system. Download the software from the official website. We download and install this software, through which we can install Windows programs. Take QQ as an example: The first step is to open the installed software and click the “Add” button in the lower left corner to add a container. I added a container and named it “Win7” before:

Step 2 Right-click the container win7 select install software to the container, in the pop-up window to find the QQ version we want to install it.

Click install, the software will automatically install the relevant files, until the final installation is successful, may be in the middle of some process we need to click to confirm, we like in the Windows software installation process click.

The terminal command tool I use isGuake Terminal

There’s only one function, swish from the top of the screen when you press F12! Down to a terminal! Then the form will zoom by itself whenever it loses focus! The ground retracts. Convenient!
