OBCA: Hardcore online, thousands of licenses
In mid-October, OceanBase launched OBCA certification on its website. In just two months, tens of thousands of students have started the course experience, nearly ten thousand people have registered for the exam, and thousands of people have obtained OBCA certification.

By the end of November 2020, we had organized 4 public training sessions and 42 examinations, and 3,072 people had passed the certification. Among them, the trainees who have passed the certification are mainly from partners, customers, university teachers, students and all kinds of technology enthusiasts in the society.
Since June this year, OceanBase has become an independent company to accelerate the construction of industry, technology, talent and partner ecosystem. Facing industrial ecology, OceanBase actively embraces the ecology of the whole industrial chain. It has completed product adaptation and mutual recognition with many hardware and software manufacturers, and has formed in-depth cooperation with IsVs such as Hengsheng Electronics, Shenzhou Information and Long Yinhai. OBCA certification has also been actively participated by industry customers, so far 596 people have obtained OBCA certification, including China Life Insurance, China Construction Bank, China Mobile, Guotai Junan and many other industry customers. The active participation of partners and industry customers conveys their confidence in OceanBase, as well as the future of the entire distributed database ecosystem.

OBCA certification is the first phase of OceanBase’s systematic certification training. Online learning + online training + examination enables students to make reasonable use of fragmentation time, quickly understand the basic technical architecture of OceanBase database, and master the basic operation and maintenance ability of OceanBase.
In the early stage of OBCA certification line, we mainly learn the development history, application cases, product architecture, core functions, deployment and installation of OceanBase, so as to understand the important features of OceanBase such as multi-copy consistency protocol, data reliability and high availability, online horizontal expansion, and distributed transactions. Subsequently, students will be tested on the operation and management of OceanBase through a systematic examination system.
OceanBase has recently opened the learning materials for OBCP (OceanBase Database Certified Expert), and enrollment will be open at the end of December. In the future, we will launch the OBCE (OceanBase Database Certification Master) certification, hoping to help more database industry talents step by step grow into OceanBase database experts and integrate into OceanBase technology ecosystem efficiently through a complete and systematic knowledge system.
