While watching the Brain, the contestants on the show are often amazed by their performance. Compared with them, I feel like I came to this world for nothing. Why are they so powerful?

Does it have one more head than we do? Or did they use magic?

Just kidding.

There is no magic, according to the Internet they actually use the “memory palace” model theory. Using this “memory palace” model, we can build our own “superbrain”.

The theory is actually so simple that anyone can learn to convert short-term memory into long-term memory by associating the contents to be remembered with the “memory pins”, which then combine them to form a familiar map or palace. Now this memory model can also be made using mind mapping software.

Where’s the software?

Let’s see how we can use mind mapping software to make knowledge points into “memory palace” mode and quickly realize memory training.

This series will show you how to create mind maps using each of the three applications.

A, MindMapper

Figure 1: MindMapper template interface

MindMapper has a wide variety of templates. Users can choose appropriate templates according to their habits of thinking or the needs of memorizing content. Xiaobian suitable for layered memory, then choose template 09.

At this point, you can use the mapping function on the right side of the MindMapper toolbar to select some interesting textures and associate them with the content to be remembered. It is better to make a memorable story. Later, you only need to recall the short story and the tree diagram in Figure 2.

When there is complex content to remember, MindManager can also be used to make it.

Second, the MindManager

First, establish a central theme and spread ideas around from that core. Then use correlation lines to establish internal relationships among different themes. When the theme is gradually fleshed out, fill in keywords that can be associated with the remembered content. As mentioned earlier, the brain remembers images better than words, so use images often when building your “memory palace.”

Okay, isn’t it easier to remember complex stuff?
