An overview,

Risks are everywhere, including natural disasters and emergencies. Sometimes we cannot predict some risks, such as the Tianjin Port explosion. In IT, too, the unexpected is always there, the risk is unpredictable, and the best thing to do is to be prepared for disaster.

With the development of cloud computing, IT resources can be rapidly deployed, flexibly expanded and cost-effective, which provides great convenience for us to create local IDC room database disaster recovery. How to use cloud database for DISASTER recovery becomes the basic skill of DBA.

Currently, Tencent Cloud has provided Tencent Cloud database products:

  • Relational databases: cloud database MySQL, cloud database MariaDB, cloud database SQL Server, cloud database PostgreSQL
  • Cloud database Redis
  • Cloud database MongoDB
  • Distributed database
  • Cloud database Memcached
  • Cloud database HBase

The following takes MySQL database of Tencent Cloud as an example to introduce how to make full use of the advantages of Tencent Cloud, reduce the burden of DBA, and easily set up database (MySQL) : same-city and same-district DISASTER recovery, same-city and different-district disaster recovery, and cross-regional disaster recovery.

Second, the current TencentDB supported architecture deployment

For scenarios with strong requirements for continuous service and data reliability or for supervision, users will provide disaster recovery instances by default when purchasing the cloud database MySQL to improve continuous service capability and data reliability at a low cost.

3. Build a CLOUD Dr Environment

Through the above introduction, we have a basic understanding of the cloud database MySQL architecture, next we will talk about how to migrate the local IDC database to TencentDB and establish synchronization relationship.

The first step: first determine how the local IDC and Tencent cloud to establish communication.

1. Through special line;

Step 2: Pull the local IDC data to the cloud and establish synchronization relationship.

1. Create a DTS (Data Transfer Service) synchronization task, assuming that the CDB instance has been purchased.

Operation steps:

Create a DTS data migration service

Log in to the console, go to the data migration page, click New Task, and enter related information and local IDC instance information

Select the target instance instance and click Save

Select full + Incremental data migration as the synchronization type. That is, the data is synchronized with the local IDC database
