After chewing my tongue during the day, I would go back to the hotel at night and have no idea to work on the computer. I would often lie in bed alone and think about how the year went, how the team of more than 20 people would continue to develop, and what I thought was right and wrong. There is a question that I am afraid to touch, but I have also thought about it, that is, why haven’t I written the monthly settlement email for two months?

The fear of dissecting a mistake you don’t want to accept and face is a kind of confusion when you can’t find a solution

In my opinion, I did too many wrong things in February and March, and the solutions were not particularly good. I kept looking for them and felt a little confused. I dared not face the bigger and bigger team and more and more things. I put it on hold.

My partner Jiang 昪 often said to me, “Be the first, with the shortest time, the fastest speed, the strongest force to do the first in the industry.” I always thought I understood this sentence, and I always stressed on the surface that we should do fast and strong enough to beat all the competitors to be the first, but RECENTLY I discovered the value of being the first.

For a young entrepreneur, to be the first is the basis of living, not the goal at all!

Yes, that’s the harsh reality when you’re trying to grow your company, improve your product, improve your team, and focus on what you’re doing to get ahead. You realize that the 2-3 years of your dedication is a necessary cost, which is like a stepping-stone to negotiate with others. Like if you want to play World of Warcraft, you have to practice to full level; Like one Piece’s entry into the second half of the new world. To be the first in the industry, looking for opportunities to change the industry, and the rest, whether it be products, financing, resource integration, marketing, is just the way you do it.

A look back at 2016

In this year, the rare earth company has changed a lot. At the beginning of the year, we lived in The Haide Innovation Valley of Dinghao Building in Zhongguancun. At the end of December 2015, we got the second financing. How I want to leave this “stifling” office as soon as possible and have our own piece of world! At this time, Xinlin just helped us to renovate our dilapidated mobile products, and also changed the Logo of Nuggets; NeXT and Baby have taken Android by storm; I am busy working on products, Web development, etc. Jiang Jiang hard to do development work, his side of the operation partner came and went a change.

I wish there were more and better people to help, I was so anxious to find friends to help introduce people. Fortunately, Bing Bing soon came to help, Liu Tao also came, Spring source came, Gao Jie came, Hanks came, bai Yang came to help. From four people, we finally have a team, a team that can do things together. That kind of happiness from nothing, only I can understand and feel, and then there is a greater responsibility, I hope not to pit everyone’s responsibility.

This year, we focused on nuggets as a technical content distribution channel and continued to optimize the process and experience. How to make sharers and content creators more willing to distribute their original content to Nuggets, and how to make readers get independent recommendation information flow more in line with their own needs is the focus of our constant optimization. We make it possible for users to contribute, write, create collections, and see their own independent news streams, recommend users to follow, and better popular recommendations. We make it possible for people to reach technical content in any scenario, whether it’s mobile fragmentation time, office, or browser plug-in work.

This year, we have iterated over 60 versions of Android and iOS, with three refactorings on the Web side alone and hundreds of iterations online. Our operation team has served more than 80 technical offline events, operated more than 60 issues of boiling point, sent hundreds of books alone, invited more than 1,000 original authors and co-editors, edited more than 10,000 articles, and tagged nearly one million times.

This year, we still adhered to the neutral attitude of technology, supported and distributed the most important technical articles behind a number of technical events, wechat mini program content and Putian Hospital database. This year, we expanded the steps of market and commercialization, faced the commercial society, and began to have a certain commercial income and business cooperation ability.

During this year, we also lost partners who should not have been lost, fired employees who made mistakes, the core team failed to achieve the set goals due to lack of focus on work, and held foolish meetings. There were frequent frictions between development, product and operation teams, and any one of them could be changed under the company’s system.

This year, I don’t regret that I drank more than 200 cups of coffee and negotiated or failed to negotiate every cooperation. It’s not a pity that I wear out my mouth and talk about focus and communication; It’s not a pity that I keep saying think about solutions.

I have been working in the company for a year, and my colleagues come and go. I don’t say THAT I know better than before how to choose talents, but there are some common basic requirements that we must learn, otherwise it is difficult to work with such people, or even absolutely can not work with them.

  1. I have absolute business execution ability for the job I am responsible for.
  2. It’s okay to ask for advice and resources, but don’t be the problem maker, be the solution maker. Proposals and requirements without a purpose and implementation plan will not be processed.
  3. Actively communicate with partners in task implementation, actively communicate, seek communication opportunities.

This year, I stepped in countless pits, every time I did something wrong, I had to use 2-3 times the cost to solve the wrong thing. After a mistake, in addition to the accumulated experience of eating shit, but also contains a few things to grasp the good yardstick, as a mirror:
