At the end of 2019, I did not publish a summary of myself, because that was the first year after graduation from university and the third month after I joined the first company. I felt that I had not made any achievements and had nothing to write. So in 2020, with the epidemic riveted enough strength, cruel squeeze their own, this time finally have, the content.

Going upstream off campus as an alumnus

Since March, 19, I led a group of friends to set up the “OpenJMU Project Group” in the university with a very ambitious intention: “Open jimei University information construction”. From there, I learned to develop with Flutter, and in less than a month, the first version of the “OpenJMU client” was released. (The first release log cannot be found at 😅)

Friends who have experienced dealing with public institutions should know that projects are not something you just think of, and promotion is not something you just want to move. Everything has a very complicated process. However, we still withstood these procedures. Three months after the project started, when the App on campus was removed due to iOS certificate issues (which can be problematic), we signed a confidentiality agreement with the information Center of the school as a team of 9 people, and officially started the development with approval.

In September 2019, I officially graduated from Jimei University. Since then, MY status has changed from student to alumnus. All the network and identity permissions, all disappear into thin air, can board only their quietly left a…

As part of the system can only be accessed in the campus, this undoubtedly brought great difficulties to my development work, but real men never give up. Despite the limitations of the network environment, I continued to drive the work and was still in charge of major development, pushing OpenJMU all the way to release 0.9.4 and unreleased 1.0. Finally, In this year’s freshmen brochure, OpenJMU has gained its place and become an indelible brand in the history of Jimei University.

Many people would ask me, “Why are you still in charge of the campus project as a graduate?” I have not given a definite answer so far, now it seems that I probably really hope that the school information can flourish, but also reluctant to my school.

As a worker, in the life to find a seam to survive

Since my major is “Marine Fisheries Science and Technology”, which is traditionally a far cry from computer content, I started looking for job opportunities early on. One and a half years before graduation, I took part in Tencent Spring Recruitment. It was the first time that I took part in the recruitment, but I didn’t even pass it once. Finally, I was reduced to a trip waiting for my friends. Since then, I have been constantly trying big factory opportunities. Deep memory is in baidu interview after three, a little sister and I almost big, in the hall in front of 60 or 70 people point to my name, loudly say “sorry, you have not”. After graduation, I had many friends in Shanghai, so I chose a start-up company in Shanghai with about 15 employees. I started to work on Flutter development and did some Android development at the same time, barely stepping to Shanghai.

(When I first arrived, I rented an eggshell apartment, 13 ping / 2400 a month, night)

After working for a few months, I used my savings to buy a scooter that allowed me to sleep an extra hour before work in the morning.

In September this year, the house lived for a year, the salary was raised a little, then did not renew the rent (fortunately, wool to the end of hurriedly run away), from 13 square 2400 shared house moved to 40 square 4200 one room, good landlord, good wallet, good me.

(Leisure time on weekends)

Of course, the price of being fat is endless weight gain… So from November, I joined the walking group after work every day and did abdominal muscle tears at home (XJB), hoping to control my weight and figure next year. 🤤

Break through yourself as a Flutter’er in the Flutter world

GitHub Contributions town building.

There has been no pause in the world of Flutter this year. 95% of submissions are related to Flutter. In addition to continuing the development of the Flutter project, he has contributed his own code to various well-known Flutter projects.

Flutter has three stable versions released in 2020:1.17, 1.20, and 1.22. It’s an honor to have my new code in every new release. Not only that, but there are several important time points this year:

  • In early April, I released the best package I have written so far, which has been added nowAwesome flutter;
  • In early July, I joinedCFUG (China Flutter User Group), and@chenglu , @Vadaski å’Œ @MeandNi(Flutter. Cn global Sky group) as careflutter.cn / dart.cnIs responsible for translating, reviewing and synchronizing documents, and is fully responsible for translating Dart safety content;
  • In early September, byJustin McCandlessIntroduced, joinedFlutter Team (flutter-hackers)When the achievement is recognized, I can enjoy all permissions of Flutter open source and start the journey of Flutter Member.
  • At the end of November, I attended GDG DevFest 2020 in Shanghai, where I had a Q&A with Google Pay team who also developed Flutter. After sharing, I further exchanged my experience and feedback on Flutter.
  • Still in late November, it was released in Denver”How Hard is it to put PR on Flutter?”After the article, got the opportunity to push the public account;
  • In mid-December, after two months of constant adjustments, the first one was merged in FlutterBreaking Change, marking a new height of contribution to Flutter.

The most important thing you can do to improve yourself is not to stop, but to give 1% of your effort while believing that you are 99% talented. I believe that there are more opportunities waiting for me in the Flutter world of 2021.

As an only child, in the family…

After the Spring Festival, my father was admitted to the hospital again and never left. He fought the cancer demon for six years, and the world wasn’t kind to him, and ultimately didn’t let him watch me thrive and reap the rewards of growing up. But he once said: “To see him now so sensible, I am relieved.” My father’s affirmation of myself is my greatest achievement.

As a partner, in the absence of a relationship

Programmers don’t need feelings, the computer is his wife.

Due to work place, family situation and other reasons, I thought I could not keep or pay more attention to her, so I was ruthless at the beginning of the year and pushed away my girlfriend. It turned out to be the right decision not to involve her in the affairs of her family or to entangle her further in life. Of course, it is impossible to tell her about these things, and I will explain them in the next life. “Women, it only affects my coding speed.”

In 2021, continue on the road of growth

Next time, I don’t know if it will be the end of 2021. Set yourself a few small goals here:

  • Look for opportunities to make Flutter in a big factory;
  • Continue to be active in the community, answering questions for more people (dissuasion);
  • Continue to contribute to Flutter officials and the local community;
  • Produce more knowledge, no matter where. This year, I was told by my boss that KNOWLEDGE sharing was poor. (Not because of the busy business)
  • Another popular package;
  • Keep your weight at 135±3 and get rid of your sedentary belly completely.
