Novices often start to draw conclusions at this time “Ali cloud is rubbish”, “Tencent cloud is rubbish” and so on. In fact, the main cause of the problem is not cloud vendors, but system optimization. Please look carefully, problems often exist in the following conditions:

1. I have bought entry-level active machines with low configuration, such as 1C1G and 1C2G, and use relatively new Windows Server series systems, such as Windows Server 2012/2016, etc. 3. I am not familiar with several services provided by the system, such as Windows Update. Windows Defender 4 has just been installed. 5. Not familiar with the hard disk characteristics of cloud servers (this article excludes this problem).

A little server knowledge based friends, after reading these conditions, basic can think of what I want to say today. The topic of today’s article is “Windows Server 2016 system, just installed the main reason for the unusual card”. The reason why I write this blog today is that today, ali Cloud group activities as a gift of 5 years OF ECS machine just opened (t5 series models). It is precisely because of this experience, so, to sum up, for T5 series models, do not understand server system optimization, do not use Ali Cloud T5 series ECS! So ali cloud T5 series ECS instances exactly is a ghost? As FAR as I can see, using your spare CPU resources to reduce the price increases the utilization rate for Alibaba and reduces the cost for users. So don’t complain that running out of CPU credits forces the CPU to run at 10% efficiency because you didn’t spend that extra money!

Today’s operation process is as follows:

1. Use the delivery voucher to open

Log in ali Cloud official website (Ali Cloud console > Fee Center > Delivery voucher Management), find the delivery voucher, click use. Select region, configure, open.

2. System preparation

Log in ali Cloud official website (Ali Cloud console menu > Cloud Server ECS> Instance > Region) to find the ECS that you have received. Check whether the security group allows 3389 (it has been allowed by default), add port 80 (necessary operation for Web application) to set the password, the current Ali Cloud ECS can not set the password when opening, find the ECS to set the password.

3. Log in to the server

Start preparing the installation package, since I selected Windows Server 2016 Data Center Edition here. The system does not have an application environment by default, so I still need to do the following operations: A, turn off the unused services (Windows Update, Windows Defender, enhanced IE Settings, automatic system maintenance) B, turn on the system functions (installing IIS server, adding this computer icon to the desktop) C, Install the application environment (chrome browser, Notepad++, database, input method used by myself, security protection tools used by myself, such as security dog) d, build the application (website)

Among them, the problem in the third step, after logging in to the server, found that the server is very jammed, can barely open the resource manager, the reason is that the Windows system, is a hodgepodge, it for us to consider a lot of problems, in fact, many problems we do not need. As a result: Windows newly installed system, optimization system becomes a necessary operation!

There are about a few services that are particularly CPU intensive:

MsMgEng. Exe (the culprit is the Windows Defender service, which is used for system security protection, and costs extra CPU resources and disk read and write resources during running)

Automatic system maintenance (new system will run this, have to turn off, will also occupy CPU)

LogonUI. Exe (system built-in, system just started will occupy more CPU resources, can not see the past also have to endure)

Svchost.exe (a system requirement, although the use of resources also have to endure)

CompatTelRunner. Exe (crazy disk occupation, recommended to close)

Tiworker.exe (Scheduled tasks, if you do not need to add your own task schedule, it is recommended to close)

Baidunetdisk. exe (my personal habit reason, put their own various software environment in Baidu network disk, so run baidu network disk, uninstall after use)

Now I have said the culprit, when this service runs, it is obviously inadequate for my 1 core small machine, the resource manager can not be opened smoothly, let alone I have to put the Web service. Unable to stand it, I found this command to shut down Windows Defender service.

Close the built-in Windows defender method (running as MsMgEng. Exe) and use the command line :(in administrator mode)

Tutorial: Point to the start menu right mouse button, find the command prompt (administrator), and then copy or manually enter this command, press Enter to run, OK.

Then, as other services run smoothly and end, CPU utilization drops from 100% full load to the 5%-10% range with no business. It’s enough to run and configure my Web environment, and I don’t have to worry about running out of CPU credits before business breaks out.
