After the 11-day holiday, you can expect more than a new round of work, Windows11 is also quietly released on October 5th, the official version has been available for MSDN subscribers to download.

As Microsoft gold partner, this grape has been in the first time to get the installation package, adhere to as long as I update the speed fast enough, the old version will not catch up with my attitude, let us quickly open the relevant content, together to experience Win11 complete installation process ~

System environment

You can see the environmental requirements for Windows 11 on Microsoft’s website.

TPM2.0 stuck in my VirtualBox installation option and got off to a bad start. This grape decided to upgrade directly to the working notebook. It’s a Lenovo ThinkPad T580 with an eighth-generation I5 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.

After backing up the important files, let’s go straight to the ISO image file and start the Windows 11 upgrade journey.

Upgrade Installation Process

The upgrade installation process took about half an hour, and there were three steps from clicking setup to entering the new desktop:

To prepare

If you run setup.exe in the installation image on Windows 10, the system will automatically prompt you to upgrade. This is the same as when Windows 8.1 was upgraded to Windows 10. Well, even the interface is similar. Press Next as prompted.

In this step, the installation package will automatically connect to the Internet to obtain updates, and the waiting time will be different under different network speeds. According to previous experience, we can also disconnect the network to install, and the installation program will skip the process of checking for updates.

When you see that you are ready to install, click the Install button and the first step is complete. “Do not keep anything” here; The system disk does not retain files, including programs, configuration (such as Edge favorites, history, etc.), temporary files. Files under other drive letters will not be deleted, please rest assured.

During the installation, we can do little but stare at the progress on the screen or grab a cup of coffee.

configuration

In the first two steps, the Windows 11 installation interface has the same style and experience as Windows 10 and earlier versions. After entering the configuration phase, the interface style changes completely, and there is no shadow of the previous Windows version. The large ICONS and rounded rectangle borders on the form feel more like an Android interface than a Windows one.

In Windows 11, Microsoft pushed harder to use Microsoft accounts to log in, so hiding local accounts even deeper. If, like me, you prefer to use a Local account, look for the login option on the page that prompts you to add an account, and then select Offline account, changing the neutral “Local” to the pejorative “Offline”.

(Configure Windows 11, use local account)

(Configure Windows 11, use local account)

At this time, Microsoft is still trying to persuade you to use Microsoft account for the last time, I chose to skip, this is to see the user name input interface.

(Configure Windows 11, use local account)

After some manipulation, a new desktop and a new start menu appear. Windows 11, boot up!

Since Windows 10 is the activated version before Xiaogrape, there is no need to re-activate the PC after upgrading to Windows 11, and the system will automatically change to the activated state.

Early experience

This upgrade to Windows 11 is my daily work computer, which is mainly Office bucket, wechat, QQ and grape City’s own products. In just two days of use, I didn’t notice any operational inconvenience. It’s fair to say that Windows 11 doesn’t have much of a presence beyond its new interface style.

This, perhaps, is the job of operating systems.

Of course, if you’re like me and don’t like the middle taskbar, you can also set it to the far left to make Windows 11 look more like Windows 10. You do this by right clicking on the taskbar, then going to the taskbar behavior and changing the alignment.

In fact, Grapevine wasn’t the first to use Windows 11 in Grape City. The students in the development team used Windows 11 as the test environment early in the Beta to test and optimize the products with desktop version. So, if you’re using the latest versions of Grape City’s development tools, such as Designer, Wyn Enterprise, SpreadJS, etc., feel free to upgrade to Windows 11.

conclusion

Windows 11 is the latest operating system launched by Microsoft. It has a great change in interface style and user experience with the previous Windows, absorbing many excellent designs of mobile OS. Rounded form borders, larger ICONS in built-in apps and more panels make Windows 11 more like Android on a PC.

To be encouraged, Microsoft didn’t compromise too much on compatibility while offering a new design. Everyday software, such as Office, wechat, QQ and PotPlayer, can run on the new system, bringing convenience to users. In the coming months, more people will join me in upgrading to Windows 11.

For Ben, Windows 11 seems to be a step further into the future, don’t you think?
