Highlight 1: Trusted open source governance standards and evaluation results
Open source has risks such as security and compliance, enterprises are building internal open source governance systems, and at the same time facing the choice of open source governance tools. Therefore, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) has issued a series of norms and standards for the open source governance capability of enterprises since 2019, to help enterprises standardize the use of open source software and improve their open source governance capability.
It is reported that the evaluation system is open source originators, open source product enterprises and open source users. After several rounds of testing and trusted evaluation, the conference will officially release the trusted open source evaluation results, including: trusted open source governance, trusted open source supply chain, trusted open source projects, trusted open source community, trusted open source governance tools.
Highlight 2: The newly released White Paper on Open Source Ecology (2021)
As the whole society accelerates digitalization, networking and intelligence, open source has become the general trend. With the prosperity of the open source industry, the open source ecology has attracted much attention.
In order to help domestic users better understand and use open source technology, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) officially released the industry’s first White Paper on Open Source Ecology (2020) last year, giving an overall introduction to the development of open source ecology. And focus on open source layout, open source operation, open source governance, industry open source, open source risk, open source technology and other hot topics in the open source field.
This year, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) will publish a new White Paper on Open Source Ecology (2021), which includes the new trends of open source ecology in the past year and the outlook for the future development of open source ecology.
This conference will interpret the White Paper in detail, and bring the most authoritative open source application and practice guide to enterprises and users. Enterprises and users will also have the opportunity to comprehensively understand the opportunities and challenges brought by open source technology, as well as the practical cases of open source governance.
Highlight 3: Released the V3.0 version of China ICT open source governance platform
At present, with the rapid development of open source technology, open source software has basically covered important basic software fields, and has been widely used in finance, telecommunications, industrial Internet and other industries. However, China is also faced with a series of problems such as complex intellectual property issues, prominent open source risks and incomplete open source ecological information.
In order to alleviate these problems, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has launched an open source governance platform to help enterprises detect open source license, open source vulnerability and other risks from two aspects, namely “open source risk detection” and “open source ecological monitoring”, and reduce the violations caused by the use of open source. At the same time, by continuously monitoring the community activity of open source projects and other information for enterprises to provide reference for the selection of open source projects, a comprehensive open source governance platform has been formed. The meeting will release the Chinese ICT open source governance platform V3.0 version.
Highlight 4: Release the industry’s first “operating system open ecology white paper”
Operating system is the most basic and important basic system software. More and more operating systems choose the direction of open source.
In the early stage, the ecological development of open source in China mainly focused on the field of application side development software. In recent years, domestic enterprises gradually focused on the layout of open source projects in the field of basic software, and a number of open source projects of operating systems emerged.
China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) has published the first White Paper on Open Ecology of Operating Systems in the industry, which summarizes and Outlines the general situation of open ecosystem of operating systems, and focuses on the problems and possible solutions faced by open source operating systems.
Highlight 5: Release the industry’s first “Open Source Community White Paper”
In the development process of open source, the open source community undoubtedly plays an extremely important role. The open source community has played an important role in promoting the development of open source software by providing a space for many developers to learn and communicate freely.
However, the governance of the open source community faces many problems. How do you engage developers and users and get them to contribute to the community? How do you gather core contributors for project maintenance, development, and management?
To this end, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and PingCap jointly published the industry’s first White Paper on Open Source Communities to help people understand the open source community and reveal the problems in the development and governance of the open source community. The conference will also provide a detailed interpretation of the White Paper to help developers, enterprises and other organizations understand the open source community.
Highlight 6: Publishing the White Paper on Open Source in the Financial Industry
With the rapid development of open source, traditional industries are also actively following up and forming characteristic open source communities. SPD Bank and China Telecommunications Institute jointly established the Financial Industry Open Source Technology Application Community (FINOC) in 2018, focusing on the use and governance of open source software in the financial industry.
However, as an industry with high security requirements, the financial industry is faced with more stringent regulatory requirements when adopting open source technology, and risks should be minimized in terms of intellectual property rights and information security.
In this conference, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology will jointly with SPD Bank to publish the “Open Source White Paper of the Financial Industry”, and make a detailed interpretation, to help everyone to have a deeper understanding of the development status of open source in the financial industry.
Highlight 7: The Oscar Open Source Peak Case
In order to better promote the landing of open source technology in the Chinese market, encourage enterprises and manufacturers to use open source, promote the landing of open source technology in the Chinese market, encourage enterprises or individuals to further explore the development model of open source technology in China, the conference specially set up the “Oscar open source peak case” selection.
