Let me tell you something interesting about the last few days. I’ve recently been greeted with warm greetings from about a dozen headhunters/HR. Is it my illusion that HR is more professional than headhunters in general?

Like me, you probably think there are many differences between headhunters and HR.

  1. Different perspectives: HR represents the interests of the company, and the headhunter will fight for them on your side
  2. Different degrees of specialization: HR is responsible for more, while headhunting is more professional and targeted

 

You know, I’ve been feeling like MAYBE I’m reading this the wrong way.

In order to hire you as soon as possible, hr may recruit talents for the company and improve their OWN KPI, or they may try their best to help you find ways to succeed. Instead, headhunters make you beg for a referral.

Hr will study your background, your contacts, and your stack professionally. Instead, the headhunter talks to you for a long time, and doesn’t even know if you’re male or female, dev or beta.

 

A few headhunters I met recently:

Headhunter 1: Mai Mai take the initiative to add me, and then a fool me. There’s a bunch of names out there. Let me pick one. I chose one of them. He said ok, what do I mean by development, product, or something else? I was like, what the hell is this? Shouldn’t a headhunter know a candidate in advance and then make a definitive recommendation? And then you don’t know what I’m doing? What is his role? Headhunters or smugglers? I am curious of the point of his personal data, 20 years of graduation, now still in the probation…. . These small headhunters really pulled down the industry threshold, let me instantly feel sick, no problem to recruit black headhunters industry. It could affect my mood any time I meet another headhunter. Chances are he won’t say another word.
