Innovation requires letting go of bigotry and prejudice

Someone drew a black dot on a piece of paper and asked, “What do you see?”

There are at least a hundred answers: black dot, sesame seed, fly, thumbtack, sunspot, smudge…… These are all normal associations. Some people think more active some, he may answer: I see the shortcomings…… I see regret…… I see the damage……

Many times, we will be frustrated because of a thing did not do well. “I am useless; I am so weak; I am the stupidest man in the world; It’s a hard thing to do.” Instead, we need to think and focus on the broader question of whether the solution itself has any value, and whether changing this piece of logic will bring additional risks to the system, rather than just focusing on that black spot.

We go through all kinds of things every day. Things change so fast, and we can’t know everything. In a moment, our bigotry is triggered by prejudice, and our bigotry is deepened by bigotry, both of which tightly constrain our innovative thinking.

It is not easy to find our own prejudices, because in the absence of external forces, we always think that what we think is right, and stubbornly insist, but we do not know that we have gone on the road of prejudice. In fact, the best thing to do is to keep quiet. Learn more, think more, listen more than I think.

Once upon a time, when you bought a new phone, you had to charge and discharge it completely for the first three times. But wait until the popularization of lithium batteries, technology has been updated, but there are people stubborn thinking, do not go to do homework research, continue the first three times of complete charge and discharge. Innovation requires solid work in basic technologies

Innovation is not an idle imagination. Technology accumulation is the most important internal basis of enterprise innovation and the core internal cause of innovation success. The premise of innovation is to do a solid job in basic technology. Without a solid foundation, innovation is nothing but a castle in the air. The obstacle of innovation of many enterprises in our country is caused by the weak accumulation of technology to a considerable extent.

A small chip has now become a big knot in Chinese society. The cost of importing chips has exceeded that of oil for ten years in a row. The slogan of “self-sufficiency” is often sounded, but the process of localization is faltering. One netizen cried out, “Why can’t China make chips when China has made two bombs and one satellite?”

What’s the problem? It is important to understand that the western chip industry has spent decades building up the basic technology. Simply say lithography machine, need extremely stable workbench and measuring table, need extremely high precision lens, need extremely stable light source…… Each of these technologies is extremely complex. Subsequent silicon purification of chip materials, light-sensitive materials, chip design, chip design software and so on, all of which require very high basic technical requirements, rather than the result of one or two years of research and development, need a long time of accumulation of basic technology. This is also the objective law of development of things.

With every smooth landing and recovery of a Falcon 9 rocket from sea to land, SpaceX and Elon Musk are once again in the world’s spotlight. There was a time when cars, airplanes, and spaceships were covered with buttons. But now, whether it’s cars, airliners, fighter jets or SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, there are technological innovations in the form of large LCD touch screens.

Now Apple mobile phone, Android mobile phone, have cancelled in addition to the volume, power button functional buttons, are touch virtual navigation keys.

Large LCD touch screen appears in the car, which reduces the cost, facilitates wiring, and is more beautiful. Compared with the keys, the service life is longer. The follow-up upgrade is also very convenient, and there is no need to disassemble the control panel and buttons.

In the field of civil aircraft and fighter aircraft, the abandonment of traditional buttons, large screen and glass is an important feature of the development of the cockpit.

Where the Soyuz used to be all buttons, the Dragon now uses a large LCD screen, which is more intuitive. The convenience of the button lies in the strong operability and convenient operation in the environment of violent vibration, but these are old thinking and methods. The new Dragon spacecraft does not need to be manually operated at all. The computer tells the astronauts: “You don’t need to operate it, you are too slow and not accurate, you just watch.”

The fundamental purpose of scientific innovation and exploration is to transform the world’s complex problems into simple ones. In the process of innovation, we should be good at turning complexity into simplicity, using more subtraction and less or no addition, and then simplifying ideas, steps and schemes, focusing on energy and going straight to the theme.

In my opinion, the direction of financial digitalization innovation can be summarized as follows: business can be complex, but the expression must be simple; The system can be complex, but the operation must be simple.

Innovation should be daring to think and do without fear of failure

Ambition is not easy to become, things do not enter asylum seekers. The road of innovation is not always smooth sailing, there will be such and such problems, innovation must dare to take risks, carry forward the pioneering spirit and hard work. All innovation, the probability of failure is always higher than the success, but for the twists and turns on the innovation road, the winner will always sum up experience and lessons, to find ways to solve the problem; The loser will always blame everyone and make reasons for problems.

The latest high-altitude test flight of the Starship SN9, a prototype spacecraft, blew up on landing, just like the SN8. But failure will not stop mankind from marching into the stars. In the near future, mankind will surely be able to land on Mars and sail to the sea of stars.
