If you ask me if RSSHub can change the fate of RSS, I don’t know either, but I know that RSSHub’s fate is not to accept it. — Nezha, Nezha

If you don’t already know RSS: I Have a Special TECHNIQUE for USING RSS

If you don’t already know RSSHub: subscribe to Sites that Don’t Support RSS via RSSHub

First, the biggest respect goes to the 244 participants of RSSHub

Subscribing to an RSS feed is too hard

First, the site needs to provide RSS (which is not always the case); Then we’ll find the RSS link in the page by chance; Then copy the link, open an RSS service like Feedly Inoreader, click Add Subscribe, paste the link, Add

See, subscribing to an RSS feed requires both the right time (finding RSS by accident), the right place (having RSS on your site) and the right time (not giving up because the subscription process is too cumbersome)

It’s been 9102 years. This is not how the world should be

Solve the problem

To solve this problem, RSSHub Radar was born

Chrome Web Store | GitHub

RSSHub Radar is a spin-off of RSSHub, a browser extension that helps you quickly discover and subscribe to RSS and RSSHub of current websites

When we enter a new page, RSSHub Radar will automatically check whether the current page supports RSS and RSSHub, and a corner will be displayed in the lower right corner. If we want to subscribe to the RSS of the current page, click the extension icon, and a list will pop up, as shown in the picture. The list has three things: RSS for the current page, RSSHub for the current page, and RSSHub for the current site. You can choose to copy the link or subscribe to Feedly Inoreader TinyTinyRSS with one click

The Settings page allows you to use your own RSSHub domain, set shortcut keys, update rules now, choose to subscribe to TinyTinyRSS or Feedly Inoreader with one click, turn on or off horn notifications, and more

The support list lists the currently supported RSSHub rules

How does RSSHub Radar work

RSSHub Radar is open source, you can go to GitHub to see the source code

When we enter a new page, the RSSHub Radar starts detecting the RSS and RSSHub of the current page

The RSS that comes with the current page

Parsing every link on a page is obviously impractical, but the standard specifies a link tag of a special MIME type to indicate RSS links. Link [type=”application/ RSS + XML “] and link[type=”application/atom+ XML “]. RSSHub Radar uses this tag to check whether the page has RSS

RSSHub that applies to the current page

The RSSHub link is obtained according to the URL or DOM of the current page using the given rule. The specific meaning of each field of the rule is shown in the document, and the specific implementation is here

Update rules remotely from GitHub every 5 hours

A key to subscribe to

Both Feedly Inoreader and TinyTinyRSS provide interfaces for subscribes. Feedly requires a page confirmation, while the other two subscribe directly

For example, visit this URL to quickly subscribe to my blog with Feedly (FOLLOW confirmation) : feedly.com/i/subscript…

This URL can be quickly using Inoreader subscribe to my blog: www.inoreader.com/feed/https:…
