Shen Hao, technical director of Meituan

He graduated from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctor’s degree. He has been engaged in the research of intelligent robots in Lenovo, Intel and Ali successively. In 2017, he joined Meituan unmanned delivery department and developed the small bag unmanned delivery robot. He has published more than 10 papers in CVPR, ICRA and more than 50 patents.

Autonomous driving technology will have a profound impact on our lives in the future. As a leading enterprise in the life service industry, Meituan has been committed to the research and development in the field of automatic driving in recent years. Meituan driverless car distribution team is oriented to the urban terminal distribution scenarios, driven by business, deeply develops the autonomous driving technology, and takes the lead in carrying out driverless car distribution on the open roads of Shunyi in Beijing. In this technical salon, we will share with you the challenges and development progress that the driverless vehicle delivery team has encountered in the direction of autonomous driving related technologies.

Topic Sharing: High-precision Mapping and Positioning Technology in Urban End-end Distribution

High-precision map and positioning, as the upstream module of unmanned driving, provides a priori information of road scenes for the sensing and planning control module through offline high-precision map production and online high-precision positioning output. The sharing will introduce the opportunities and challenges of high-precision map and positioning in terminal road scenes, as well as the current research and development progress.


Shi Xinchu, technical director of Meituan

He graduated from Chinese Academy of Sciences and published more than 10 papers in IJCV, CVPR and other journals and conferences. At present, he is engaged in perception research and development at Meituan.

Unmanned Vehicle Sensing Technology in Distribution Scenes

Perception is the “eyes” of the unmanned vehicle. Through the processing of sensor data, the understanding of the road operation environment of the unmanned vehicle can be realized and the basis for downstream planning and decision-making can be provided. This sharing will introduce the perceived technical characteristics and task requirements as well as the technical challenges in the terminal distribution scenario.


Ren Dongchun, technical director of Meituan

He graduated from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2020, it will be selected into the Beijing Science and Technology New Star Program. In 2012, he won the first prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award. First place in CVPR 2019, ICRA 2020 and NEURIPS 2020 obstacle trajectory prediction competitions. He has published more than 20 academic papers and granted more than 50 invention patents.

Challenges and Opportunities in Behavioral Decision-making and Motion Control of Autonomous Vehicles

The safe and stable running of the unmanned vehicle is inseparable from the accurate and stable perception of the environment and the state of the autonomous vehicle by the perceptual positioning module, and the effective decision-making and accurate control of the autonomous vehicle behavior by the decision control module. This sharing will introduce the challenges and opportunities of obstacle trajectory/intention prediction, behavior decision making, motion planning and motion control.
