The Pr has two Audio Mixer panels: Audio Clip Mixer Audio Clip Mixer and Audio Track Mixer Audio Track Mixer.

Audio clip mixer

Used to adjust the volume and balance of selected audio clips on the track and set mute, solo, etc., can also enable the function of writing keyframes.

Volume Volume controller, an industry standard control, simulates a real mixer and is commonly known as a “push” to increase or decrease Volume.

The Balance control, also known as the “sounder” Panner, adjusts the relative volume of the left and right channels in stereo audio clips.

After Write Keyframes is enabled, you can manually adjust the volume controller or balance the control while playing the sequence to automatically create Keyframes.

Tip: In “Preferences/Audio/Automatic keyframe optimization”, you can add “min time” to prevent too many keyframes.

All keyframes can be adjusted using the Selection tool or pen Tool on the Timeline panel and effects control panel.

During playback, the volume controller slider or balance control slider changes with the set keyframe. \

Sound track mixer

The mixer panel mainly realizes the control of the whole audio track.

Can be used to adjust the balance of the whole track, volume level and set mute, solo, etc., can also be recorded.

You can set effects and send, as well as select automatic mode.

  • Track output allocation \

Channel output to main channel or sub-mix.

  • Automatic mode

— Off: Disables automatic mode.

— Read: default. Manually set keyframes are read in this mode.

Lock: Writes keyframes as in touch mode, does not bounce back, but goes straight back to the next keyframe.

— Touch: Keyframes are written in the same way as in write mode, but after releasing the mouse pointer, it gradually returns to the next keyframe.

— Write: Drag the volume slider while playing the audio to write the keyframe.

Tip: In the left panel of the timeline panel, click the “Show Key Frame” button (it may need to be manually added), and select “Track Key Frame” or “Track Audio Camera” for intuitive observation.

  • The effect

After expansion, effects can be added for track, such as EQ, VST and other third-party effects controls are also here.

For many effects, you can double-click to go to parameter Settings, or right-click on an added effect to select the presets in that effect.

  • send

On sub-mixing \

This can be done from the Pr menu: Sequence/Add Track, or from the track head on the left side of the Timeline panel, right click and select Add Audio Sub Mix Track.

Alternatively, create it directly in the “Send” section of the mixer. \

 \

Subblending is a special track, equivalent to the bus in Au, that cannot add clips or recordings. Submixing is useful if you want to do the same thing with multiple tracks.

send

It is usually used to route the track’s signal to a sub-mixed track or main channel for effect processing. Each track can have 5 transmissions.

For example, you can add a submix track for the “reverb” effect and send all the tracks (or submixes) that need the reverb effect to the submix track. After setting the reverberation effect on the sub-mix track, the track audio sounds more like the same acoustic space.

Send level button: By default, send does not have any level. In this way, the dry and wet levels can be better controlled.
