1. Build a storage network

1. Right-click the host to create a network

2. Select a connection type

3. Select the target device

4. Allocate adapters

5. Set port attributes

6. Configure the STORAGE network IP address segment

7. Click Finish

8. View the newly created network

9. Create a network for the witness host

10. Create a port group

11. Select an existing switch

12. Fill in the network label

2. Create witness VMS

1. Import the WITNESS host OVA template

2. Enter the VM name

3. Select the installation position

4. Click Next

5. Accept the agreement

6. Select the deployment scale

7. Select a storage location

8. Configure the network

9. Configure the management IP address and storage IP address

10 and complete

11. Add hosts to the data center (be sure to add witness hosts outside the cluster)

3. Configure vSAN

1. Format the disk and delete partitions

2. Clear partitions

3. Configure vSAN

4. Select a configuration type

5. Click Next

5. Declare disks. All flash disks are configured as cache layer, and all HHD disks are configured as capacity layer

6. Configure the fault domain

7. Select the witness host

8. Declare the disk of the witness host

9. The configuration is correct and complete

10. If the new disk is successfully created, a vSAN disk will be automatically added to the cluster

4. Delete vSAN storage

Log in to the witness host using SSH. The disk configuration on the witness host is cancelled. Run the following command: esxcli vsan storage remove -s “SSD UUID” Force the witness host to exit the cluster. Run the following command: esxcli vsan cluster leave Reconfigure the extended cluster from the new vCenter Server (Configuration > VSAN > Failed Domains and Extended Clusters).
