Nuggets 2.0 has been released. Nuggets is the Internet technology dry goods aggregation application, the existing front-end, back-end, Android, iOS, design and other categories, the content of each category is found and recommended by nuggets co-editor dry goods. It could be an in-depth analysis of a technology, a recommendation of a productivity tool, an open source library for mobile development, and so on.

Why nuggets?

We all know that the rare Earth team is a technology-driven team, and everyone in the team likes to read and share technical articles. We find it hard to find “good tech talent”, and we spend a lot of time checking Twitter, reading English articles on Hacker News, checking the top lists on Github, opening RSS feeds to read the blogs we subscribe to, and so on.

So we want to, if there is such a tool, it can help me to filter out the worthless technique of noise, tell me the depth of the recent technical circles have what is worth reading technical articles, which can use in making new open source project, what tools can make my development or design work efficient, that should have much good. So we developed a tool and invited some great and enthusiastic developers to come in every day as co-editors to recommend great technical artifacts that shone like gold, and these co-editors became the first gold diggers. Call it “nuggets,” then.

The user evaluation

Lingfeng Yang, from Google Play:

Super careful tools every day to go to the toilet must see, learn all kinds of strange skills

Oucreate, from Kuan:

It’s so dry. I made a long comment about it earlier. But now it seems that it is good to push cool, but purely relying on machine aggregation is not conducive to the quality control of the article. Then I read the article on V2EX by the developer of “Nuggets” and it turned out to be all human tweets. No wonder my first impression was, “Soft dry stuff, nuggets!”

Coolbeer, from Coolan:

Nuggets generally focus on software development articles, but there are often interesting “Wilipedia” articles that are an appetizer for people like me! ❤ ️

Here’s a review of the app market after the nuggets first release went live, and the rare-earth team received a lot of positive feedback. So after a lot of intense design and development, we released Nuggets 2.0. What’s new?

What are the updates?

We made two major improvements to Nuggets 2.0: improved reading experience and interface redesign.

Article reading optimization

Thanks to Readbility’s article retypesetting API, Nuggets 2.0 will be able to remove coarse and concise web content on PC and display the content of articles directly. The code in the article has also been reformatted, and the code can be read easily on the mobile app.

New interface design

The Android version continues the Material Design Design style of the last version. On iOS, the interface and ICONS are completely redesigned, which is more in line with the original Design visually. Colors and other elements that interfere with reading are removed, making reading cleaner.

More co – editor

As of the new release, the Nuggets have gathered 68 co-editors in each category to share new technologies in the field, great tutorial articles, and popular Repos on Github. Let every user can have a harvest, this is the biggest goal of gold nuggets app.
