Li Feifei said that Ali Cloud’s business system is becoming fully intelligent, and its core cloud services cover the planning, migration, deployment, flexible expansion and shrinkage capacity of IT architecture, as well as the automatic operation and maintenance of the whole life cycle of daily management. Secondly, in terms of the combination of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology with databases, Li Feifei believes that there will be self-driving database systems just like self-driving cars. The same as the database system, the automobile driving system needs to adjust many parameters in real time according to the running state. The self-driven database will also use machine learning algorithm to tune the parameters to make the database run in the best state. In addition, in terms of AI application in the upper layer supported by the database system, the new generation of space-space database engine Ganos and AI Earth developed by Ali Cloud can be used for intelligent storage and management of large-scale space-space data, as well as intelligent computing analysis and in-depth information mining. At present, it has been applied in natural resources, water conservancy, agriculture, ecological environment, meteorology and other fields to make social infrastructure construction more intelligent.
Aliyun’s self-developed cloud native relational database POLARDB is the first cloud native database in China. It adopts innovative designs such as storage and computing separation and software and hardware integration to meet cloud requirements in large-scale business scenarios. A few days ago, POLARDB assisted the original transformation of HuiPay World Cloud, reducing the overall cost of HuiPay World Database by 75%. On the one hand, it saves a lot of authorization fees of traditional database for customers. On the other hand, the use of cloud native database products, support the ultimate elastic capacity, resource use more economical. At the same time, Changjietong, a financial software company of Yonyou, completed the migration of core cloud services such as “Good Business” and “Smart +” to PolarDB, which helped reduce the service response time of the business system by 40%, increased the concurrency capacity of the business system by more than four times, and significantly improved the stability and robustness of the business system. Game manufacturer JiangYuInteractive also introduced PolardB to support its game products such as Pocket Shock with an average of 500 million user requests per day, and reduced the overall IT cost by more than 50%. Among the best practices within Alibaba Group, PolarDB also fully supported the Tmall Singles’ Day in 2020 and set a new record for peak database processing, reaching 140 million TPS.
In 2020, Aliyun Database entered the Gartner Global Database Leader Quadrant as the only technology manufacturer in China. Over the past decade, Ali Cloud has made rapid progress in the field of product technology and has been widely recognized by the market. At present, more than 400,000 database instances have been migrated to Ali Cloud, including leading enterprises in many fields such as government affairs, retail, finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, logistics and so on.
