1. Conflict between writing and format

For regular writers, Markdown is a very concise markup language with a very simple syntax, but the rendered effect meets our needs and allows you to keep the formatting clean even in fast typing projects.

How did we do it before Markdown? It is usually divided into two ways:

  1. Adjust the format as you write
  2. After writing, adjust the format

However, the disadvantages of both methods are obvious. First, when you adjust the format as you write, your energy will be distracted and you can’t concentrate on writing. And the second look is a very good method, but there is a very obvious shortcomings, first of all, in the process of writing does not pay attention to format, with the longer articles, as a whole will be more and more ugly, reduce the experience of writing, and after you’ve written to adjust the format, at that time, when you document update, once again, you need to adjust the format, In this way, we need to adjust each new time, which wastes a lot of time.

Writing with Markdown allows you to write without messing up the format of the entire document.

The syntax of Markdown will not be introduced here. Firstly, there are many articles on the Internet introducing Markdown syntax. Secondly, various platforms will make subtle adjustments to Markdown syntax to meet more needs of users.

This article is mainly about the mutual cooperation between Markdown editor Typora and iPic software to improve Markdown writing experience.

2. Disadvantages of Markdown

2.1 How to Insert pictures in Markdown

Is there a downside to Markdown? Of course there is and clearly there is a lack of processing of images.

Markdown is mainly on the basis of text files with some grammar limit, so that at the time of rendering will read this text files, and images will handle is a problem, one cannot directly insert pictures in a text file, so the Markdown adopted a compromise way, is the location of the image by grammatical markers:

! [Picture description] (Position of picture)
Copy the code

This seems to solve the problem of inserting images for a while, but do you have to write a long string of paths every time you insert an image? And we can not guarantee that they are correct every time, compared with The drag-and-drop type of Word, this way will undoubtedly reduce the user experience.

The next problem is that the image cannot be resized.

All of the above problems can be solved by a Markdown editor. Common Markdown editors optimize image processing to varying degrees to improve user experience.

2.2 The blog pictures in my website are invalid??

When you write an article on your computer, the article and pictures are stored locally. When you publish your own article, the new problem arises. When we upload an article to a blog site, the site will parse the whole article. You will find that all the tagged images in the post are not there (because they are stored on your computer), and all the images on your blog will become invalid, which is certainly not what you want.

The solution is to upload all the images to the site so they can be displayed on the blog, and Markdown allows you to use a network path to indicate the location of the image, as follows:

! [Bing wallpaper] (https://cn.bing.com/th?id=OHR.WaterperryGardens_ZH-CN5767279278_1920x1080.jpg&rf=LaDigue_1920x1080.jpg&pid=hp)
Copy the code

But this requires us to upload all the images one by one, and trust me, it’s a frustrating process that you don’t want to do more than once.

Of course some people say why not just write on the website? You can’t upload images from the clipboard. You have to save and upload images. Some powerful Markdown editors support inserting images directly into the clipboard. Then you have to make sure you’re connected to the Internet and have your browser open at all times. If the site supports autosave drafts, that’s fine. If not, it’s only a matter of time before your blog gets lost.

3. Markdown: Typora + iPic

In order to solve the above problems, we strongly recommend Typora +iPic to use Markdown for writing.

3.1 Typora

First, I will introduce Typora, a powerful Markdown editor, to write Markdown. Here I recommend a detailed article about Typora (terminal lazy cancer, incurable).

Make Markdown writing easier with a free minimalist editor: Typora

  • Complement Typora’s features

3.2 iPic

Although using Typora to write Markwon has been very perfect, but there is still a little pity that Typora cannot automatically upload pictures, which requires the appearance of iPic, iPic can upload pictures to multiple graph bed, at the same time, Typora and iPic cooperate with each other is a magic weapon.
