Parallels Desktop for Mac is an excellent piece of virtual machine software that runs on a Mac. Users can easily run Windows, Linux and other operating systems and applications on Mac OS X. Users can switch between Win and Mac, or even use both, without having to repeatedly reboot their computers. A recent update to the official MacOS version, MacOS 11 Big Sur, has made Parallels Desktop virtual unavailable. If you already have Parallels Desktop installed, a temporary workaround is to run Parallels Desktop and follow these steps

1. Open Mac OS Terminal Applications (Finder -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal)

2. Run the following commands in sequence

export SYSTEM_VERSION_COMPAT=1

open -a Parallels\ Desktop.app

1. If you have Parallels Desktop App Store Edition installed, uninstall it

2. Re-download the Parallels Desktop 16 installation file

4. Open terminal (Finder -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and run the following command:

sudo -E -s

You will need to enter a Mac password to run the command. For security reasons, no symbols are displayed, so simply press enter

open Install.app
