Agile project management can be applied to any JIRA project. Whether you’re a Scrum master or new to Agile development, JIRA Agile can help you manage the backlog, plan sprints, and monitor project progress throughout the release process.

Agile development processes

  1. A lot of work, including stories
  2. The smallest unit of work, also known as a task, is different from a task
  3. Version Version Software released to customers
  4. Sprints Are iterations of team transaction processing

Backlog tasks

Build a product Backlog by quickly creating user stories. Fill in components, success criteria, business values, or other fields the team needs to plan and execute the work. If your Backlog is in another tool, you can migrate it to JIRA Agile using the import tool. Sort the Backlog of user stories and defects by dragging and dropping, and place the stories with the greatest business value at the top. If you have a large Backlog, set filters to filter specific user stories or bugs.

Rule of kanban

Kanban is a catalyst to improve your existing process (Scrum or whatever) in small, incremental ways. Rooted in Lean production, Kanban can be seen as a semaphore system that is effectively applied to software development, DevOps, IT operations, and other processes.

Visualize your workflow

Map the columns on the panel to the steps in your current workflow, adding or removing columns as the process changes. Kanban teams often set up longer processes or wait states on the panel, such as adding a column to show the status of “waiting for customer response.”

Sprint Plan

The Product Owner takes a subset from the top of the Product Backlog and converts this subset to the Sprint Backlog using Sprint tags. All the stories corresponding to the sprint mark are discussed in the sprint planning meeting, and when the sprint begins, the issues in the mark become commitments that the team needs to deliver.

Analyze trends

Problem turnaround time is the time it takes to deal with a problem itself (not including waiting time). Delivery time is the total time it takes for a problem to be raised and completed. Stories of the same size often require consistent problem turnaround times, which in turn provides predictability for customers by monitoring future trends and analyzing historical processes through Cumulative Flow diagrams, identifying where work started and where bottlenecks occurred.
