Upload the way

IPic supports a variety of picture uploading methods. Here’s a quick look at each upload method and where it fits in.

1. Drag pictures to upload

Drag is a fun way to upload. Just drag the image onto the iPic icon in the menu bar and release it to upload automatically.

Notice that the menu bar icon also shows the upload progress. Very simple, but very practical, no longer blindly wait.

This way, you can also upload multiple images at once. The order of images uploaded is the same as the order selected before uploading.

2. Upload pictures using the service

Using service uploads in Finder is also very efficient. Just right click on the image and select Upload using iPic in the service.

Instead of using menus, a more efficient way is to use shortcut keys. Just select the image and press Command + U to upload it automatically.

If you find the default shortcut keys Command + U inconvenient, you can also choose System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services and use iPic to upload the corresponding shortcut keys. Similarly, if your Mac has a lot of programs installed and a lot of services in the menu that you don’t need, you can turn it off here.

There are other advantages to using service uploads:

  • You can upload multiple images at once
  • Even if iPic is not running, the system will start iPic and upload automatically

** Note: ** Due to the update mechanism of macOS system, the iPic upload service may not appear or not translated after the new installation. You can wait a few minutes or even a few hours to try again, and the iPic upload service will display normally. You can also manually update the service menu at the terminal:

/System/Library/CoreServices/pbs -update

3. Copy the picture and upload it

IPic will automatically monitor the changes of the clipboard. After the image is copied, it will appear in the iPic menu to be uploaded area. If you need to upload, click the picture in the menu. Manual uploading is better for temporary uploading of a small number of images.

In addition to manually clicking on the menu, you can also use the shortcut keys Command + Shift + U to upload. Of course, you can modify this shortcut in your preferences.

4. Upload photos from other apps

The above example focuses on uploading image files. In addition, iPic also supports the upload of pictures in other programs. Such as:

Among them, JPG, PNG, GIF and other common image formats are supported.

Upload image related Settings

Compress images before uploading

You can enable the “Compress images before uploading” option in iPic preferences. Currently, compressed images are supported in JPG, PNG, and GIF formats

Using lossy compression, compressed naked eye almost can not see the difference, but can significantly reduce the size of the picture. Compressed images not only save image storage space, but also speed up image loading and save traffic.

No sound is played after uploading

IPic will use system notification after uploading. If you do not like the sound of the notification, choose System Preferences > Notifications, select iPic from the list on the left, and deselect Play Notification sound on the right.

Figure bed

Graph bed is the cloud service you choose to host your images. You can add your map bed in iPic preferences:

After adding, you can select the current map bed in iPic’s menu:

Currently iPic supports the following picture beds: Weibo Picture bed (the default picture bed), Qiuniuyun, Youpai Cloud, Ali Cloud OSS, Tencent cloud COS, Imgur, Flickr, Amazon S3

Markdown link

Here is a nice feature: when switching between regular links and Markdown links, if the pasteboard has content in the previous format, it will be converted and saved back to the pasteboard.

Picture uploading Record

IPic saves 15 recently uploaded images, with the last three images appearing in the first level menu and the rest among more uploaded images.

Clicking on an uploaded image copies the link to that image.

Of course, you can clear the image upload record in more menus.

iPic Mover

IPic Mover can migrate all images from existing Markdown files to a new map bed with one click. Batch upload pictures, figure bed move, has never been so easy.
