In 2018, I went from being a self-taught designer to a cuttoon. In 2019, MY first year as a programmer, I changed from an unemployed middle-aged man to a newcomer. Over the past year, in fact, it is only adding, deleting, changing and checking.

increase

Grow a lot.

Increased professional skills. Looking back, what took a couple of weeks to do when I was hired can now be done in days. Not now how fierce, just before it is too dish. The React technology stack really gets familiar.

Increased work experience. I used to play solo, and I could do whatever I wanted. After joining the team, I learned a lot about how to decouple work, how to define interfaces and how to cooperate with comrades. I almost went back to being a tech interviewer. Unfortunately, the young man who came for the interview did not pass the written test, so the interview opportunity was cancelled, which made me happy for a day.

Increased knowledge. I’ve met some amazing colleagues and guests at the company. One of my colleagues had a PhD in relativity who was very good at algorithms. I remember when I was young, I said I wanted to be a scientist. Now scientists are not, but their colleagues are, and that’s not bad. Vue author Yu Yuxi came to our company to share, excited.

delete

Being able to “add” so much in 2019 doesn’t come without a price. With the growth of the team, the off-duty time has also been extended from 9 o ‘clock to 11 o ‘clock now. Non-working hours have been slashed.

Life has been drastically reduced. Company and home are at the same time. Sometimes I work too late to go home, and the “front line” is gone. The company has additional rooms, overtime can be checked in. During my busiest days, I used to live in an overtime room and wake up in a different bed every morning. I wake up thinking, where is this? Did anything happen last night?

I once went 59 hours without stepping outside the office. When I was ready to go home, I met my sister who had just come to practice. Took a deep breath and didn’t dare to say hello. Because I was a real stinker.

Lean relationships. One weekend my classmates asked me out, and I said, “Thanks, I’m working overtime, but I can’t go.” Next weekend my classmate asked me to go out, I said: “Thanks, overtime, can’t go”. By the end of next week, and then no more. In order not to lose their social meaning, they should express their existence by Posting articles (funny).

Less confusion, just focus. Programmers, writing good code is not everything, but writing bad code is absolutely not. One year work experience front end, experience is not old. In the short term, just write code, practice algorithms, don’t think too much.

There’s less focus. Energy is really limited, less attention to things outside of technology. In fact, it is very dangerous for a programmer to know nothing but technology. Plan to get around more next year.

I deleted some of my hair. To get rid of single, first out of poverty; Not out of poverty, first hair loss; Alopecia, difficult to take off single. Don’t ask me why I rely on my talent when I can rely on my appearance for a living. Because all my talent comes from my looks.

change

Something changes quietly.

The joy of work has changed. I believe that everyone who likes programming has a little “craftsman”. I like the flow of code flowing through my fingertips and bouncing off the screen, I like 0 error 0 warnning, I like to write neat code, I like to be a code maker, not a code farmer. Everyone doesn’t want to take the time to get the code right and the architecture right. But there is no growth project that is not rushed and requires rapid iteration. The coder is an ideal, the coder is a reality.

Write good code to please yourself, the project runs smoothly to please others. Writing neat code is fun, but writing valuable code is even more fun. Although the changeable business has twisted my code architecture 18 turns, like a dancing girl, is not also very beautiful? The transition is hard, but it’s worth it. (He still can’t help crying)

The work mentality has leveled off. Middle-aged people look like middle-aged people. At the beginning of the year, I was in a bit of a panic when I received the work assignment. How does this function work? What about this bug? What went wrong? Are they incapable? How did you get into the company in the first place? When my colleagues praise me for doing well, I feel proud of myself and feel that I have learned so fast that I am a potential stock. In a word, the level is too vegetables, unstable mentality.

After a year of training, now within the scope of work, there is no “technically impossible” things. In fact, the real technology can not achieve things, should not be reviewed and started at all through the technical scheme. Real development should be smooth, not “working on a super hard bug overnight”. After the basic technical level up, the state of mind followed steady. Face praise and criticism, have their own judgment.

check

When god closes a door for you, he opens a window. So you can jump into another hole without a hitch, hahahahaha. Unemployed in 2018, I hope to work, 2019 overtime added to the isolation. I like my job, but it doesn’t mean I want it all. A life with only work is incomplete, and a life with only overtime is unhealthy. So I’ve been looking for a way out.

What if you don’t have enough time to sleep? On days when you leave work at 9 o ‘clock, you get enough sleep to write in the morning and read during your commute. On days when you get off work at 10 o ‘clock, you can go to work when you wake up in the morning. You can read books and have fun during your commute. On days when you leave work at 11 o ‘clock, you sleep during your commute. When you leave work at 12 o ‘clock, you should catch up on your sleep at dinner time and improve your sleep efficiency by sleeping in segments.

What if you don’t have time to exercise? Fragmented motion. I used to run for hours at a time. It was too expensive for me now, so I didn’t run for a year. The company has a gym and a sports corner. When you go out for dinner, squeeze in your meal time and get half an hour of exercise.

What if you don’t have time for a relationship? Show your hands. There’s no solution. At the end of the year, my classmate introduced me to a girl and pushed her wechat name card. I added her wechat when I wanted to get off work. I ended up working overtime every day for the last 23 days of 2019. And then — do you think there’s more then?

Overall, 2019 feels much better than 2018. For those of you who are interested, take a look at what I was doing last year: what it was like to quit my job naked at the age of 28 and change careers.

Stay up late hair hurts, advise you to go to bed early. I’m a late sleeper. See you in the next article.
