Restarting personal Blog

I was on Github last week when I saw a repository for collecting 2021 year-end summaries and found a lot of independent blogs. In recent years, more attention has been paid to public accounts, communities and mature media, ignoring this segment of the unique temperament of the community. In an era when centralized platforms control the vast majority of traffic distribution, it’s not easy for the handful of people who can keep up with independent blogs. Independent blogs are like a calling card, showing the temperament of the blogger directly. For example, the theme of the blog can be seen: geekiness, two-dimensional, simplicity, etc., and the content of the blog can also be seen, which is usually curious and wide-ranging. Ashamed to see their own personal blog, after graduation has not how to update. Now, with the open source community’s proven solutions and JAMStack’s technology stack in place, blogging is much easier. Wanting to build a blog as a personal calling card, he struggled to put it together in his spare time.

  • Migrate previous blog content back based on Hexo 6
  • Automated deployment via Vercel is very convenient
  • Buy a domain name, configure the CNAME, all live

Another special feeling of this process is that the NexT theme used by the blog has been constantly iterated over the years and still has very strong vitality. I admire the persistence of the author and the strength of the community. Want to try to copy a contribution value calendar in the blog, turned a circle of the community did not find a suitable version, learn about Svelte first wanli a simple version, the development experience is not bad, widgets no longer coupled with the three frameworks, a lot of light. yeshu.cloud/Welcome. 😄

Got involved in a little bit of open source work

Did a few little things on Github this week:

  • Optimized README for a friend’s project
  • A bug in the Color library has been found and maintainer has spoken with maintainer about how to fix it
  • Found a problem with the document, raised an issue to Hexo’s subject and received a positive response

It wasn’t much of a technical job, but I got a lot of power out of it. Now to think that I can provide value, make things better, and be encouraged by other people, and then continue to provide value, can create a very positive cycle for myself. Using the analogy of the movie “Adventure of the Mind” recently watched, it is a little touch of their own “spark” feeling.

Six simple, rough rules for life

Mr. L said

Don’t make any decisions while you’re emotionally involved

This is actually easier to understand, when the mood fluctuations are large, the perception of things is usually one-sided, after they calm down, use reason to make decisions.

If you’ve weighed the pros and cons of something and still don’t know whether to do it, you’re inclined to do it

This is not easy to grasp. For things that do not cost a lot of trial and error, we can do them, but for important decisions, we should think clearly and do not mechanically copy them.

Balance your time between thinking and acting.

Learning without thought is useless; thought without learning is perilous.

Most of the things you worry about won’t happen. Keep a list of the things you worry about. Most of them won’t happen.

It’s a great way to get a grip on anxiety over time.

When confronted with game and confrontation, consider whether you can cooperate first.

Altruism, cooperation and win-win outcomes will be better.

Face the external world to immerse, face the internal world to pull away.

Experience attentively, reduce internal friction.

Here are two points that impressed me:

If you do something for a long time, you are bound to experience many ups and downs, including changes in the external environment as well as internal changes, which need to be overcome. It’s easier said than done, which is why so many people don’t stick to something for long. People like me who have developed the concept of long-termism do not feel that they are trying to persist in one thing for a long time, but that it is a way of life, just like eating and sleeping. The same is true of long-term holdings. If I’m trying every day, I’m definitely exhausted.

Create an environment that allows you to keep doing it.

To complete a thing is to have the corresponding conditions. It’s a quick swing, but it takes time to sharpen.

A chivalrous interpretation of “water comes naturally”.
