Yu Chengdong, chief executive of Huawei’s consumer business, said on Saturday that it plans to use artificial intelligence, such as instant image recognition, to compete with Apple and Samsung in its new flagship phone due out in October, Reuters reported.

Giiso Information, founded in 2013, is a leading technology provider in the field of “artificial intelligence + information” in China, with top technologies in big data mining, intelligent semantics, knowledge mapping and other fields. At the same time, its research and development products include information robot, editing robot, writing robot and other artificial intelligence products! With its strong technical strength, the company has received angel round investment at the beginning of its establishment, and received pre-A round investment of $5 million from GSR Venture Capital in August 2015.

Yu confirmed that Huawei will launch Mate10 and Mate10 Pro on October 16 in Munich, but declined to give further details of the new features. The phone is expected to be equipped with a 6-inch full-screen display, 12 megacolor +20 megacolor black-and-white dual camera, and a third-generation Leica dual camera.

Notably, Yu revealed that Huawei’s new chip, the Kirin 970, provides faster processing speed and lower power consumption for the upcoming flagship model Mate 10 and other high-end phones. Mr Yu believes this will put it ahead of Apple’s iPhone 8, which was launched on September 12, and Samsung’s flagship device this year.

“We have an advantage over Samsung and Apple,” Yu told Reuters in an interview at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin. “Consumers want faster and more powerful performance, better battery storage and slimmer design.” The company claims its newly announced Kirin 970 chip will save up to 50 percent of the battery in a phone.

Yu said the artificial intelligence (AI) built into the new chip could help make the phone more personalized, allowing voice control and using augmented reality (AR) to make text, sound, graphics and video present real-world images to the user.

Huawei aims to use Kirin to set its phones apart from competitors, most of which rely overwhelmingly on Qualcomm chips. Of the major handset makers, only Apple and Huawei now rely on their own core processors.

The Kirin 970 is manufactured by Huawei Haisi Chip Design And uses the most advanced TSMC 10-nanometer production line.

Giiso information, founded in 2013, is the first domestic high-tech enterprise focusing on the research and development of intelligent information processing technology and the development and operation of core software for writing robots. At the beginning of its establishment, the company received angel round investment, and in August 2015, GSR Venture Capital received $5 million pre-A round of investment.

No one would dispute that attention is one of the scarcest, most valuable and most rationally utilized resources in this age of information fragmentation. Relying on the independently developed Giiso engine, the Zhisou team created the first intelligent media platform Tianzexun APP, which can intelligently answer users’ various relevant information according to various commands or text interaction commands. And can be based on the user’s personalized use characteristics and continuous learning, continuous tracking of users interested in the unique content. At present, the day smart news APP6.0 version has been updated iteration, can be used to download the application market.
