How to Learn Effectively

Let’s split the two things, effective and learning.

What is ineffective learning

What is learned is not learned. Waste of time and energy.

Learning is anti-human nature, people are born not to love learning

Therefore, you do not love learning actually need not worry, all people are born do not love learning. Because learning forces the brain to think, and brain thinking depletes brain energy. Expending energy is bad for the brain. Therefore, the principle of the brain is not to use, if there is a problem, try to use the old method and experience to deal with, take every opportunity to rest, reduce energy consumption.

So you are forcing yourself to study against your own will. You turn yourself against yourself and there will be more internal friction. Similarly, the more you want to sleep, the more you want to study, the less you can learn. First we avoid brain burn, and if we avoid brain burn, we make peace with him. The answer can be found in several ways

Study with purpose and problems

For example, if you want to solve a difficult problem, you will search all kinds of information and answers on the Internet and then solve the problem, then do you learn a lot of knowledge in this process?

So how do we maintain this purposeful learning in our daily lives?

1. Set goals

You need to set yourself problems and goals, such as becoming a front-end architect or buying a BMW X5 by the end of the year or making $100 million first, so that you have a relatively clear and specific goal.

2. Make a plan

Then make a study plan based on the objectives, such as a front-end architect, and make a list of the skills and knowledge that a front-end architect needs.

3. Break down goals and stages

Make a learning plan according to the phasing objectives. You can make a learning plan according to the weeks, months and quarters.

4. Learning feedback

One of the most important reasons why we like to play video games, besides the fact that it’s not so brainless, is that you can get feedback in real time. For example, if you play a big trick, it will be 5 minutes before you get some, and it’s not even a network card, so you don’t play video games anymore.

So during our learning phase, we reward ourselves for failing to achieve a phase goal. Buy a pair of basketball shoes, go for a jump, travel abroad or reward playstation for achieving a big goal. Each time you reach the corresponding stage, you should have a certain self-reward mechanism when you complete it. Feedback can improve learning motivation and cognition.

5, output

Learning without thinking is labor lost. Learning is input. If you don’t think and summarize, it is equivalent to not filtering and there will be no precipitation of knowledge.

The simplest way to think is to record the learning process and thinking, which is equivalent to asking questions and summarizing for yourself. There are many reasons when we enter and exit a field. In the later learning process, a solution forms a certain knowledge precipitation.

For example: any questions you have about the company or the product when you start a company can be written down and refined and then used as an orientation document for the company, because your questions are the next person’s questions, etc.

6, checking

The review is a summary of the past and the alignment of the future, and it is a comparison between yourself and yourself at different stages, which is of great significance. It is not a comparison with others but some in-depth research and understanding of yourself.

Review can be done in many ways. You can make a table for yourself to analyze and disassemble as if you are doing product iteration or competitive product analysis. You can also walk, run, meditate and be alone with yourself to ask questions and summarize answers. And of course replaying is a big topic that we’ll talk about separately.
