How do I use OneDrive on a Mac

Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage and synchronization solution for Macs, PCS, and mobile devices with Internet access. Drag and drop files or folders of any type into the OneDrive folder. Data is immediately stored in the OneDrive cloud storage system.

Use a Web browser to access the OneDrive folder. Browser-based access allows you to use cloud-based storage on any computing platform you find yourself using without having to install OneDrive applications. You can also access OneDrive from iPhone and iPad by downloading the OneDrive app for iOS devices.

OneDrive works with other cloud-based storage services, including Apple’s iCloud, Dropbox and Google Drive. There’s nothing stopping you from using all four services and taking advantage of the free storage layer that each service provides.

OneDrive works much like any other folder on your Mac. The only difference is that the data is also stored on a remote OneDrive server. In the OneDrive folder, you will find the default folders labeled Documents, Pictures, Attachments, and Public. You can add as many folders as you need and create any organizational system that suits you.

Adding files is as simple as copying or dragging them to the OneDrive folder or appropriate subfolders. Once you have placed the files in the OneDrive folder, they can be accessed from any Mac, PC, or mobile device that has OneDrive installed. You can also access the OneDrive folder from any computer or mobile device using the Web interface.

The OneDrive application runs as a menu bar item that contains the synchronization status of files saved in the OneDrive folder. Adjust the preferences by selecting the OneDrive menu bar item and clicking the three-point “More” button. You are set up and have 5 GB of free space to use.
