Apple officially unveiled iOS 15 and iPados 15 at its WWDC2021 developer conference, introducing many new features such as FaceTime sharing, focus mode, real-time text, offline Siri, redesigned notifications, and more. The first public beta of iOS 15 and iPados 15 was released on June 30.

I’m sure many Apple fans can’t wait to upgrade their experience. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to download and install iOS 15 Open Beta.

What to do before iOS 15 update

There are still a lot of bugs and instability in the public beta of iOS 15, so it is not recommended that you update it on your major devices.

The beta version of iOS 15 is around 5GB, so make sure you have plenty of space on your iPhone before you upgrade, or you could end up with an upgrade that fails or gets stuck.

IOS 15 compatible devices include: IPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE (1st and 2nd generation), iPod Touch (7th generation), please make sure your device supports iOS 15 before you upgrade.

After upgrading to iOS 15, it is not possible to retain the data inside the device for downgrading. Please pay attention to backup important information of the phone before upgrading to avoid data loss (if you downgrade to iOS 14, you cannot restore the backup created in iOS 15).
