The Mac cursor is designed with a white outline and black padding. This is a nice combination, and no matter what is displayed on the screen, it is easy to find, but boring. In past versions of macOS, you couldn’t change the cursor color without using a third-party utility. You can now change the cursor color in Mac OS 12.

Using Monterey, you can easily change the cursor color to a color that is more easily caught by your eyes, or just add some talents to reflect your personality. You can find it in the Accessibility panel of System Preferences. That’s how it’s done.

How to change cursor color in macOS Monterey

  1. Go to system preferences and click Accessibility.
  2. In the left column, look for the Vision section and select Display.
  3. Click the pointer TAB in the right section.
  4. You’ll find two Settings here, the pointer outline color and the pointer fill color. Click the color sample button next to each setting and a color selection palette will appear. Choose the color you want. To revert to the default white and black, click the Reset button.
  5. Turn off system preferences.
