Time management

Don’t like to read the text of the friends can poke video link time management

The longer you’re in the office, the more you focus on time management. I always heard from my predecessors that the more skilled a technician is, the less he works overtime, and the more he pays attention to efficiency and time management. The more time you have to study. On the contrary, it is because of your half-skilled skills that people are easy to squeeze hours and do some repetitive work. There was neither time to study nor the ability to make choices. I wish I had changed, but I’m too shy to share, and tech blogging just doesn’t work. But one day I hit a time management boiling point with the Nuggets, with an official post asking people to share how they manage their time. Well, it’s not surprising that I’ve been outplayed by the authorities. Then is the original intention of writing this article, I hope to share with you. Since MY working life is only 3 years, some of my views are naive. Just laugh and give some criticism and suggestions. Let’s start with my day.

Introduction, my day

To explain the timeline, the day starts at 8 and ends at 12, and this is how I spend my workday.

Refine the different areas where you can improve efficiency:

  • On the morning of 15 min
  • At noon, 30 min
  • 1 h + in the evening

, 8 PM to 9 PM in the company waiting for the elevator can take time and eat breakfast time memorizing words, 15 min 45 words, every day is good for your English is not so, there may be some formalism, but look at the total than not, the 10 words can remember two, in your programmers career variable names are of great help. After all, it’s a waste of time, because I’ve been watching people spend their time waiting for the elevator scrolling douyin.

Lunch time many people choose to order take-out/downstairs to eat, waiting for the meal time is very boring, eating time eyes are idle (I do not recommend eating time to study, can not see, it is best not to move the brain.) Can download a good variety/TV series in advance, half an hour just watch an episode, meal and enrichment.

After dinner, I go back to work for a rest, and I will definitely play my phone before going to bed. I observe my colleagues and myself, and I find that no one goes to sleep immediately after coming back. All they do is play games/code/gossip. For about half an hour, this is how I deal with half an hour, reading e-books, like JavaScript for 20 years, JS functional programming, a chapter or two a day, and I read two books in a month.

Leave work at 6pm, go home after dinner, and read a book on soft skills — influence/leadership/thinking, speaking, psychology, etc. — in the same chapter, too much will make you fall asleep. Then free play from 8 to 10, hanging out, exercising, appointments. Read a skill book before going to bed. It’s very important to lay a solid foundation and help you sleep. A lot of people say I don’t like reading. It doesn’t matter, there are fandeng Reading, Ximalaya FM and Geek Time. Listen to the book. Especially if you’re tired when you come back from overtime, find a book that doesn’t require your brain, such as stories and experiences that you can learn something from, such as Geek Uncle Time Mouse’s “Wind in my Left Ear” jumping out of my day, and then look at time management using PPT’s 3W1H law.

Why manage, whether it works or not?

We’ve all had it:

  • Procrastination. What the hell are you doing
  • One day passed
  • It’s easy to lose track of time by doing what you love to do (playing video games 🎮

For example, I like to go dancing in the square and always lose track of time because I feel that I am not tired and can sing another song. Later the auxiliary police came, said there were restrictions, can only jump to 9 o ‘clock, 9 o ‘clock must go home. At first I resisted, but later I felt quite good. I took the supervision of the auxiliary police as an alarm clock and went home when it was time to do other things. This is also a form of time management, albeit passive.

Tube?

Time management, what do you do with the reserved time? It depends on what I want. If you want to be a pianist, you have to have time to practice. Again, think hard about what you want. Here’s a sample:

  • I want to leave work early and have my own time
  • I want the satisfaction of allocating my time wisely
  • A virtuous cycle, a desire to see yourself changed by time management
  • There are more options when it comes to job hopping

Then analyze the above points:

  • Come off work early, if current company does not accord with, the leader can communicate, if communicating, you must have the reason that can persuade, if cannot, must consider how smooth job-hopping
  • I have a choice in job-hopping, so what do I lack/what are the highlights that can make many companies choose me? Strong skills or team management? Thinking about certain contacts or business areas.
  • When you figure out what you need, use the time set aside to strengthen in that area.

How to manage?

Observe their

My day is a good example of how you can carve out time in your day to do what you need to do. Because everyone does things every day, can allocate time is not the same, so it is impossible to copy mechanically. For example, you may spend a lot of time on the subway, not take the elevator, spend a lot of time in the office, etc. It’s about looking at yourself first and taking time away.

Observe others: teachers, leaders, these people in time management must be better than you, if you have not observed for a long time, but also scold him every day, this company is how to keep you, you have to reflect on.

Try changes: daily, summary, journal

In 2020, the form of diary is not limited to paper, any software can record, diary content around you, I am a daily record.Spend 5 minutes a dayWrite. It’s much better at the end of the week.

Record changes and adjust strategies:

If you feel like you can’t remember words on the subway, make backup plans and switch. Like listening to music, watching videos, and constantly adjusting.

Work in earnest

Speaking of loose hours, the most part of your working day is still working hours. If you want to talk to your boss about not working overtime, then you need to ensure that your efficiency is improved, which is reflected by data and reports. Let’s start with how I improve my productivity.

  1. Immersive work experience, no idle people disturb during working hours, wechat chat with someone to tell you your working hours clearly. Make sure you don’t get distracted during development.
  2. When I arrived in the company, I adjusted the interface and confirmed that there was no problem with my code. If the interface was wrong, I went to the backend to solve the problem in time (if I forgot the name, I went to the workstation to ask). When the task was finished, I timely fed back to the leader to let him know that you were idle and assigned other requirements.
  3. Learn to refuse, everything is recorded. Some veteran employees are pushed to you because they don’t want to work for a long time. They say: Learn more and know more about the business. So you let him do the email, or the assignment. At the same time, your requirements are recorded to avoid being ignored during the evaluation.
  4. Summary after the end of the demand, the difficulty of the demand, technical problems abstract into the topic (algorithm is so abstract out of the problem, on the one hand exercise your abstract ability, on the other hand, it is convenient to ask others questions, from the business only ask technology.

That’s the end of this article. It mainly describes some of my experience and how time management unfolds. I hope it will be useful.
