Remotely connect to a Windows server

You can use the

  • Lightweight application server management console
  • Local Windows remote desktop connection tool Connect to Windows lightweight application servers.

This article provides detailed operation instructions for you.

The premise condition

  • The Windows lightweight application server to be connected must be in the running state.

  • Note The lightweight application server does not have a remote connection password and server password by default. Therefore, ensure that you have configured the remote connection password and server password for the server. Specific operation,

    Setting a Server PasswordDialog box, enter a new server admin password, confirm the password, and clickdetermine.

  1. Keep your customized password safe.

  2. In the Restart the server now dialog box, select Yes, restart the server now, and click OK.

    After the password is reset, you must restart the server for the new server administration password to take effect.

    Notice If your current services do not support restarting the server immediately, select no. I will restart the server later, click OK, and restart the server during off-peak hours.

1. Use either of the following methods to open the remote desktop connection tool in the local Windows system:

  • On the Windows desktop taskbar, choose Start > Run, enter MSTSC, and click OK.
  • On the Windows desktop, press the Win+R key combination, enter MSTSC, and click OK.

3. Configure the Windows lightweight application server.

The following describes mandatory configuration items. Configure other configuration items based on service requirements.

  • Computer: Public IP address of the Windows server to be connected.
  • User name: Default user name of the Windows serverAdministrator.

4. Click theThe connectionEnter the password of the default Windows server user, and clickdetermine.
