How do I install WordPress on my website

WordPress is a content management system that allows you to host and build websites. WordPress includes a plug-in architecture and templating system, so you can customize any site to suit your business, blog, portfolio, or online store. WordPress is known for its ease of installation.

Installing WordPress is a very simple process that takes very little time to complete. You can install WordPress on your site in several different ways.

In this article, we’ll look at two of the most common methods you can use to install WordPress.

Method 1: Use the automatic installation program to install WordPress

This method is the easiest way to install WordPress. Your hosting provider has done all the work for you. You just need to enter some details. Some hosting providers do not provide this feature, so you must manually install WordPress as instructed in Method 2.

Most CPanels come with an automatic WordPress installer. When you log in to your cPanel dashboard, you’ll see an automatic installer. Autosetup basically automates the entire WordPress installation process. All you have to do is enter some basic information, click a button, and the automatic installer will install WordPress for you.

To get started, find the link to the WordPress autoinstaller in cPanel and install it. Next, you need to enter the details of your site, such as domain name, user ID, password. After that, WordPress will be installed on your site.

Method 2: Manually install WordPress

In this way, we will know how to manually install WordPress on your site. This method can be used anywhere.

Step 1: Download WordPress

Download WordPress to your computer from WordPress.org, and then unzip the downloaded file.

Step 2: Upload WordPress to your host

There are several options for uploading WordPress to your hosting account. When you unzip a WordPress file, you’ll see a folder called WordPress and upload the contents of the file to your hosted file manager.

Step 3: Create the MySQL database and users

WordPress stores its information in a database. Therefore, you need to create a database. Think of the database as a repository for everything your visitors view on your site. It stores text files, WordPress themes, plug-ins, and more.

  • Log in to your cPanel.
  • Click the MySQL Database wizard under the Databases section.
  • Create the database and enter the database name. Click Next.
  • Create a database user and enter the user name and password. Click Create User.
  • To add users to the database, click the ALL PRIVILEGES check box and click Next Step.
  • Jot down the above details, including database name, user name, and password, in a separate text file and save them for future use.

Step 4: Run the installation

After completing the previous steps, you are ready to run the script that completes the WordPress installation. First, navigate to “yourdomain.com/wp-admin/install.php” and replace the placeholder field with your site’s field. You should see a prompt asking you to select a language for your WordPress installation, which you should do before clicking the Continue button.

Step 5: Connect your database to WordPress

Once you click the Continue button in step 4, it will ask for the details you need to connect to the database. Enter the name of the database you created earlier. Fill in all details correctly and submit.

Step 6: Complete the installation

You should now see a welcome page that says “Welcome to the famous 5-minute WordPress installation!” Under the Required Information section, you need to fill in the following fields: your site title, username, password, email, and search engine visibility. Fill in these and click Install WordPress. The last screen says, “WordPress is installed. Thank you, enjoy!” There will be. It will display the username and password you have chosen.

If you successfully installed WordPress, a login prompt will be displayed. Log in to your website and start building it.
