2021, a miserable year. I’ve been writing this year-end review, but I haven’t done it yet. The reason is that under certain pressures, people become lazier and lazier. I have more and more things to learn, and I have delayed my planning because of some problems. 2021 a time line

Interview 1 to 2 months

January-february was also full of events. Because of the epidemic, hangzhou took 1000 yuan of subsidies, local Chinese New Year. And then I came home for a week because of my grandpa’s sudden death. After coming back to Hangzhou, I began to take over and prepare for entry with full expectation.

I was praised when I joined in March

After leaving wedoctor, I only have 3 days to rest. I moved to a new rented house, 5km away from Youzan, and my girlfriend took the subway to Binjiang for an hour. She took the subway, I rode a bike or a bus.

React + TypeScript + Node Bff is the dominant technology stack. It’s hard to get used to it at the beginning. When I just entered the job, I was very energetic and felt that I had a lot to learn. April – May – June

As a result of difficult birth of product demand, basically have no what big demand to do to me, still same dozen dozen miscellaneous 🙈. What impressed me most was the first shift. I needed to understand the related businesses involved in the team. Every bug feedback needed to be checked for a long time by myself, starting with Git Clone. Fortunately, youzan’s internal infrastructure is good, the project structure is basically the same, familiar with it quickly. Because it involves PC + React, H5 + Vue, small program + multi-terminal, and also uses a large number of internal packages, some problems are no longer solved by going to Google.

Deficiency in

The speed of problem solving was also one of the reasons for being laid off. During the nearly one year of “Praise”, I did not write down excessive product requirements, and basically worked on something called “product Matrix”, which involves a wide range of businesses and cannot be solved by Copy in the project. Remember there is a domain name switching demand, involving more than a dozen system transformation, from the domain name gateway layer configuration, Node route path same modification, global jump and request URL modification, permission configuration script modification, unified menu service gray adaptation transformation and so on, encountered a lot of problems. When I finally talked with HR, I asked if there would be as many problems if another new person did it. Compared to other business writing colleagues, I haven’t had any bugs yet…

A new training

In the second month, there was still no demand, so TL arranged a week-long off-job training for new recruits, which was more tiring than working. Later fresh graduates training directly into half a month or how long it was, remember not quite clear, but they outdoor travel (rafting), envy died.

The training is basically the same, it indoctrinates you with the corporate culture. In Youzan, everyone is the big brother, we call the big brother when we meet. Talk about amazing development history, let yourself open an amazing store, take various cultural exams and so on. At the beginning of June, I was transferred to the formal defense, which just ended in H1, and I got an upper performance, which was not bad, was it? Because the level is relatively low, so the defense also set a development direction for myself, or business. On the one hand, we have done a lot of business in the past, so we are confident. On the other hand, there is a big gap between the current technology stack and the previous one. I dare not say that technology is the main factor and the output cannot be produced. However, contrary to my wishes, I was assigned to work in technical architecture, which ultimately resulted in poor results and I was fired.

7 to 12 months

In the second half of the year, I was mainly engaged in the construction project, but still did not write large product requirements. Very not easy to have a multi-terminal project, is to write half, temporary notice to others to write 🙊, mainly in their own hands more things, no way. At the beginning, I basically listened to WHAT TL and Mentor told me to do. Gradually, TL wanted me to become the Owner of this project, including being familiar with Java back-end logic. From the bright side, really is a very good growth opportunities on their own, their energy also pretty feet at the beginning, then is the problem with more and more, to solve the problem of speed and lifted up, and so much to learn, lead to some changes have taken place in their own state of mind, wrote a Java after period of time, begin to lie flat, began to drag the time.

TL and Mentor could also feel it. Later, I directly told TL that I could not pick up Java for the time being. Other requirements collection, product design, technical scheme design, development and testing, online promotion of business access and other work continue to work, later may still not meet TL expectations, coupled with this year’s great layoffs, and then [unlucky] is me 🙈.

2022

About layoffs

Look at the trend, should have known things, feel the warm water boiled frog, realize later. The stock price of China Youzan has fallen from the highest 4.52 to 0.28 now. In addition, the delisting of China Youzan in 2021 will cancel the plan of listing Youzan Technology, and the cash flow of Youzan is also limited. The last financing will be in 2020. When the stock peaked, it happened to be the time when A large number of employees began to be recruited in 2021. I was one of the early employees in 2021. After entering the company, there would be many new employees on each entry day. But youzan, the first company to write about layoffs at OKR, set a new precedent.

At the beginning, I heard of the layoffs, or learned that the technical team in Beijing was laid off, hangzhou side has been nothing. When there is movement is when I am dragged to talk, hahaha 😝. On Finding a Job

It’s no big deal to accept what’s happened. In some ways, it’s what I wanted. It’s been a good year since I received the compensation payment two years ago. After a month of rest and nothing to do, let’s review. I plan to start the interview after a month, and I will look for questions from many aspects. I am very grateful for the help of my friends.
