At F18 2019, Facebook announced an update to its own open source deep learning framework, PyTorch. Version 1.1 adds production scale development tools.

Facebook also said the PyTorch1.0 framework is being used to build and deploy machine translation and natural language processing services on a large scale. These systems used to offer real-time translation apps like Messenger, with nearly 6 billion translation services. Many companies are also accelerating the development and deployment of new AI systems through PyTorchSBF, such as Airbnb, ATOM, Genentech, Microsoft, Toyota Research and university education, including Stanford University, Uc Berkeley’s Natural Language Processing, UC Horizons and Caltech’s robotics course are taught through the PyTorch framework.
