In writing this article, I collected relevant data and information respectively from Pull, Social Security network, Lianjia, housing price quotation website, 12306, Wikipedia, China Environmental Monitoring Station and Dianping.

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are magical places. In these places, some people work overtime in order to own dozens of square small sites, and some people devote a lot of time and energy to struggle for their dream of listing once. So some people succeed, and more people live in their own narrow space.

For most people, it is very difficult to live in these cities, so there is no such city in China, can replace the north, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, infinitely close to the north, guangzhou and Shenzhen, or even better than the north? If one day we are tired, tired, is there such a city can be our next stop?

Ask me, I don’t know, but the data will tell you. When we choose a city, we often consider many factors, but the most important factors are the following: housing price, salary, environment, development, food, clothing, housing and transportation.

Below, we will go through these aspects to compare and select the places we can go to next stop. The list of alternative cities is the major cities in China, excluding Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen: Xiamen, fuzhou, hangzhou, nanjing, tianjin, zhuhai, suzhou, Qingdao, jinan, wuhan, wenzhou, hefei, zhengzhou, shijiazhuang, ningbo, foshan, dongguan, jinhua, taizhou, nantong, wuxi, dalian, chengdu, haikou, jiaxing, changzhou, zhongshan, nanchang, chongqing, quanzhou, shaoxing, huizhou, changsha, kunming, xi ‘an, lanzhou, nanning, taiyuan, xuzhou, Hal Bin, Shenyang, Yantai, Changchun, Guiyang, Urumqi.

4. 1. Smart refrigerator

Housing price will be the primary factor for us to consider, the floating housing price in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou is suffocating, although the salary in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou is also the highest, but compared with the housing price is negligible. We check the relationship between housing price and salary of alternative cities in descending order of salary, as shown in the figure below. The data of housing price and salary are collected from China Social Security Network, Pull Hook network and China Housing Price Market network.

If we only consider the matching of housing price and salary, we will choose Hangzhou, Ningbo, Foshan, Dongguan, Xi ‘an, Suzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing, Guiyang and Chengdu as our alternative cities. Of course, Hangzhou and Nanjing are not so cost-effective, and the housing price is still higher.

2. Degree of development

I do not want to measure the degree of development and strength by GDP. Transportation is an important indicator to measure the degree of development of a city. We compare it with the data that can be grasped: railway and urban rail transit.

The first is the number of subways in the candidate cities. Only the number of subways in operation is counted. The following shows the cities with more than 1 subways and the number of subways.

In addition, the data of railway is the number of high-speed trains and trains that depart from this city and arrive at all alternative city stations every day. The data is collected from all the data of 12306.

As can be seen from the above two charts, hangzhou and Nanjing are the first choice in terms of transportation. Compared with other cities, the inter-city routes between Hangzhou and Nanjing are more comprehensively developed. Other alternative cities with more developed transportation and railways include Tianjin, Suzhou and Jiaxing.

3. What’s the environment like?

The urban environment affects the mood of life and work. The urban green coverage rate is high and you can enjoy good air. In Beijing, your mask may be instantly blackened. So let’s consider using another dimension to measure them, namely the annual average of PM2.5.

The PM2.5 values of the whole year in 2016 were collected from China Environmental Monitoring Station and summarized into the following chart. According to the following chart, we can see that the PM2.5 values of Vietnam are lower in the geographical locations of alternative cities, among which the cities with lower PM2.5 are Haikou, Zhuhai, Huizhou and Fuzhou.

4. What about the food?

Food is the most important thing for people. If the restaurants in a city are not complete, the food is too expensive per person, and the taste of all the dishes is not good, then as food lovers, we will consider whether to live in the city.

Where can I find these figures for cities? Therefore, I collected the information of visitors per capita, cuisine and taste rating of all alternative cities on Dianping to quantify urban cuisine.

First of all, let’s take a look at whether the cuisine of each city is rich enough. From the picture below, we can see that the cuisine of each city is equally rich. If we have to make a difference, Tianjin, Chengdu, Nanjing and Taiyuan are more rich.

Since cuisines richness points out, we try to divide from the taste of the alternative city restaurant and per capita terms, we attempt to find small dark blue circle and circle below the overall per capita is low and the overall mean score high city restaurant, we can find: chengdu, chongqing, wuhan, nanjing, shenyang, tianjin and other places.

The above are some of the main factors we may consider when choosing the next station, I believe that through the above data everyone will be able to choose suitable for their next station according to their own focus! So, escaping from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, where is your next stop?
