I’d like to thank HR and all colleagues for giving me the opportunity to start this article. It’s also a great honor to briefly share EMQ’s story of love, trust and growth with you. My name is Li Feng, the founder of EMQ. I started to devote myself to the open source software industry in 2013. For many years, my life mainly consists of functional programming, open source software, rock music, Zen and enterprise management. In 2017, we founded the company and wrote “We believe that all-in commercial open source software, open source and community collaborative production methods will shape the future of the ICT industry for mankind”.
Today, as we stand at the time node of 2021, we officially start the journey of running to the scale of 300 people or 3,000 people, and we can look forward to a broader future than before. We believe EMQ X will connect billions of critical devices in the human Internet of Things era, and the stream database pioneered by HStream will become the core infrastructure of enterprise software systems of the future.
For the rest of our lives, we have the confidence and patience to build an open source software company that was born in China and has an impact on the world. The future of EMQ
In the industrial cycle of IoT&5G era, the Internet of everything and digital upgrade have become the general trend. The open source business model, which has already made considerable achievements overseas, has been gradually paid more and more attention by more and more investment institutions in China. Since its establishment, EMQ has successively won the favor of many well-known investment institutions such as Hillhouse, GGV, Jiaju Fund, Oriental Fuhai, Chenghui Venture Capital, Nine Houses, Cyberworks and so on, and completed several rounds of financing by relying on the unique advantages of open source mode and focusing on the basic fields of the Internet of Things. We believe this is also a testament to EMQ’s position and potential in the Internet of Things infrastructure software space.

While consolidating its leading position in existing middleware products, EMQ will also break new ground in the database space with the creation of a new basic software category called “Streaming Database.” This is probably one of the most imaginative product innovations of the IoT era, and has significant implications for the storage and processing of data in the streaming era. Until now, there has not been a database product that is perfectly suited to the data requirements of IoT scenarios. And the beautiful scenery is always in the place not to come. When many enterprises are still limited to traditional databases, we begin to think about how to solve the problems faced by the whole industry from a new perspective, meet the real-time storage and processing needs of large-scale streaming data in the Internet of Things, and bring new vitality to the nearly 50 years of development history of databases.
In the future, EMQ will continue to focus on the integration of streaming data storage, real-time streaming processing, and low latency streaming data analysis.
